This approach ensures flexibility, responsiveness to client needs, and direct, hands-on engagement. Please note that per our policy on hybrid/virtual work, candidates not within a reasonable commuting distance from the posting location(s) will not be considered for employment, unless an accommodation is granted as required by law.The Peer Support Specialist is responsible for engaging with community partners and builds strategy with local stakeholders; providing education, strengthening relationships, and helping resolve case or broader systems issues. Supports care coordination teams and connect members and caregivers with those who can provide insight and expertise to assist in overcoming challenges.How you will make an impact:  Identify opportunities for engagement of members and their caregivers and families to share with care management team.Partners with peer support services in the community to create referral pathways and links members to appropriate community peer support services.Support care manager as they advocate for foster parents and other caregivers, addressing their needs or challenges with various agencies and systems.Develop strategy for peer support programs.Minimum requirements:Requires a HS diploma or equivalent and a minimum 2 years of related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:Experience working with foster youth strongly preferred.Skilled in providing mentorship, advocacy, guidance, and peer support to help youth navigate challenges and achieve personal goals strongly preferred.Job Level:Non-Management Non-ExemptWorkshift:Job Family:MKT > Marketing, Prog/Proj & SupportPlease be advised that Elevance Health only accepts resumes for compensation from agencies that have a signed agreement with Elevance Health.
