Job Description:

 Joint Live/Virtual/Constructive Technician 

GDIT is seeking qualified candidates for Mission Training Complex Capabilities Support II (MTCCS II) program. GDIT delivers individual sustainment through collective Mission Command training, Leadership Training / Development, Warfighter Functions (WFF) training, Delta Training, First Person Simulations (Gaming), and constructive simulations supported training. Technical integration between simulation and C4I systems. Establish /maintain training and exercise networks. Accomplish Risk Management Framework Certification and Accreditation security and risk management activities.

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT:

  • Integrate LVC systems so commanders and staff can train against realistic scenarios

  • Improve training realism by reducing simulation disconnects and technical limitations

  • Ensure that Army and Joint simulations can exchange information and operate together

  • Configure, test, troubleshoot, and document Linux‑based simulation systems, including creating and updating technical documentation as needed.

  • Apply system updates, quarterly patches, IAVAs, and adjust system configurations or software as needed to resolve user issues and meet design requirements.

  • Plan and develop simulation training activities, including scheduling, database creation, and exercise scenario development.

  •   Execute and support training events through user account management, workstation player/controller training, and hands‑on exercise execution.

  • Implement the Department of Defense Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP/Risk Management Framework-DIACAP/ RMF), the standard process under which all Department of Defense (DoD) information Systems achieve and maintain their Authority to Operate (ATO)

  • Provide rapid and effective technical support during high‑visibility training exercises to ensure uninterrupted operations.

  • Comprehensive IT understanding including operating systems, networking, virtualization, and security practices, with hands‑on experience administering both Windows and Linux environments.

  • Participates in special projects as required

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: AA in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications and training

  • Required Experience: 3+ years of related experience; preferred military experience at the tactical to operational level

  • Required Technical Skills:

    • Experience in configuring, maintaining, operating and integrating JLVC federate systems (JDLM, JCATS, JMECS, EXCIS, etc.)

    • Strong understanding of the Joint Exercise Life Cycle

    • Understanding of HLA and RTI

    • Knowledge of DIS protocols

    • Comprehensive knowledge of Mission Command Information Systems: CPCE, AFATDS, AMDWS, TAIS, JCR/JBC-P, DSCG-A, GCCS-A

    • Experience with Windows Server and Linux administration

    • Practical experience managing gateway services, federation interfaces, and simulation connectivity

  • Certification: Comp TIA SEC+ certification (preferred)

  • Security Clearance Level: Secret clearance is required  

  • Required Skills and Abilities:

    • Superb presentation and communication skills

    • Strong ability to advise and educate leadership through non-technical terms on simulation requirements and training objectives

    • Knowledgeable in JLVC network administration

    • Must be able to lead a technical team to create a high fidelity, realistic training event in a Simulated and Constructive environment to meet customer requirements for distributed and multinational exercises

  • Location: On Customer Site / moderate travel required to other customer sites throughout AoR

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $30.64 - $41.46. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
