Partnership Management
The Lead, Partnership Management role is a key member of the School Assessment Extended Leadership Team, responsible for defining and leading the end-to-end experience for every state, district, school, educator, and administrator who partners with Pearson.

The organization brings together a unified Partner Experience function that enables partners to launch successfully, adopt solutions with confidence, and maximize the value of assessment to improve student outcomes.
This role serves as a strategic peer to Program Delivery Teams and will work closely with Product, Technology, Measurement & Learning, Delivery and Transformation, and leadership. The Lead, Partner Experience owns the overall partner experience strategy and advocates the voice of our partners in enterprise decision-making.
The role works in close partnership with the Partner Success Program Delivery teams. While Program Delivery is accountable for successful contractual execution and operational delivery of statewide and district assessment programs, Partner Experience ensures every partner experiences a seamless journey before, during, and after delivery. Together, these organizations create a single, coordinated experience that combines operational excellence with trusted partnership.
Key Responsibilities
Define the Partner Experience Strategy
- Establish the enterprise vision and operating model for Partner Experience across the full partner lifecycle.
- Define best practices for onboarding, activation, engagement, adoption, support, and long-term partner success.
- Ensure every interaction reflects Pearson’s commitment to quality, partnership, and educational outcomes.
- Represent the voice of states, districts, educators, and administrators in strategic planning and product direction.
Lead Exceptional Partner Activation
Own the strategy for how new partnerships become successful partnerships.
This includes:
- Designing world-class onboarding experiences for state and district partners.
- Developing repeatable activation playbooks that accelerate readiness while reducing implementation risk.
- Establishing measurable readiness milestones and launch criteria.
- Creating implementation experiences that build confidence from day one.
Build a Proactive Partner Success Organization
Lead an organization focused on anticipating partner needs—not simply responding to issues.
Responsibilities include:

The expectation is that these teams become trusted advisors capable of helping partners maximize both product value and educational impact.
Create Deep Product and Assessment Expertise
Develop an organization recognized as experts across every Pearson School Assessment platform and solution.
Teams should possess deep expertise in:
- Assessment platforms and digital products
- Reporting and analytics
- Assessment literacy
- Data interpretation
- Educational best practices
- State assessment programs and operational processes
Every interaction should help partners answer three questions:
- What is the data telling us?
- Why does it matter?
- What should we do next?
Drive Product Adoption and Value Realization
Move beyond successful implementation to successful utilization.
Lead strategies that:
- Increase adoption across products and capabilities.
- Expand educator confidence and proficiency.
- Encourage proactive use of assessment data.
- Improve long-term partner engagement and satisfaction.
Own the Voice of the Partner
Establish robust feedback loops that transform partner insights into continuous improvement.
Leverage:

to identify opportunities that improve products, services, documentation, training, and the overall partner experience.
Partner closely with Product, Technology, Learning Science, and Measurement teams to ensure partner insights directly influence future investments and enhancements.
Leadership Responsibilities
- Build and lead high-performing organizations across Partner Success, Customer Support, Technical Readiness, and Training.
- Establish a culture centered on expertise, responsiveness, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Partner closely with Program Delivery leadership to ensure contractual excellence and exceptional partner experiences remain tightly aligned throughout the lifecycle of every state and district engagement.
- Serve as the executive advocate for partner experience across Pearson School Assessment.
- Define organizational metrics that measure partner health, adoption, readiness, experience, and educational impact.
- Develop future leaders while fostering collaboration across Product, Technology, Delivery, Learning Science, Measurement, Commercial, and Operations teams.

Preferred Experience & Qualifications
The ideal candidate combines executive leadership experience with a deep understanding of educational assessment and partner engagement.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Leadership experience supporting state departments of education, large school districts, or statewide assessment programs.
- Experience leading customer success, partner experience, implementation, assessment operations, or education services organizations.
- Strong understanding of K–12 assessment, educational data, reporting, accountability, and instructional decision-making.
- Demonstrated success leading cross-functional organizations and influencing executive stakeholders.
- Experience building scalable operating models, implementation frameworks, and customer experience strategies.
- Ability to translate partner needs into product, operational, and organizational improvements.
- Passion for helping educators transform assessment information into meaningful action that improves student outcomes.
Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York State, New York City, Vermont, Washington State, and Washington DC laws, the pay range for this position is as follows:
The minimum full-time salary range is between $150,000 - $165,000.
