Accountabilities:
- Own the complete accounts payable lifecycle, including invoice processing, vendor payments, reconciliations, aging reviews, and month-end accrual activities.
- Lead, coach, and develop the accounting team by setting goals, providing feedback, supporting performance growth, and managing daily operations.
- Prepare month-end reconciliations, variance analysis, and financial reviews while investigating discrepancies and ensuring reporting accuracy.
- Establish and maintain strong internal controls focused on fraud prevention, vendor payment security, duplicate payment prevention, and transaction compliance.
- Identify opportunities to automate and optimize accounting workflows through process improvements, technology solutions, AI-powered tools, and operational enhancements.
- Manage implementation and change management initiatives to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability across accounting processes.
- Oversee purchasing card and travel & expense programs, ensuring policy compliance, system configuration, and effective vendor coordination.
- Review and approve invoices, ensuring proper coding, purchase order matching, and compliance with financial policies.
- Coordinate vendor payment execution, including intercompany transactions, while partnering with treasury teams to ensure timely and accurate payments.
- Support vendor management activities, including onboarding, banking updates, payment terms, and issue resolution.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation and maintaining effective accounting controls.
- Partner with finance leadership on shared services initiatives, strategic projects, and evolving business priorities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of accounting experience, with demonstrated experience managing accounting operations.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and accrual accounting principles.
- Experience leading teams through coaching, development, and operational support.
- Advanced Excel skills, including experience with VLOOKUPs, SUMIFs, Pivot Tables, and financial analysis.
- Strong ability to prepare and review reconciliations, financial records, reports, and variance analyses.
- Experience improving accounting processes through automation, technology adoption, or workflow optimization.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and operate effectively in a changing environment.
- Experience with accounting platforms such as NetSuite and procurement tools such as Zip is a plus.
- Adaptable mindset with the ability to view challenges as opportunities for improvement and growth.
- Competitive base salary range of $99,150 – $165,250 USD depending on experience, skills, and location.
