What You’ll Do
As an EHS Engineer, you will lead the development and maintenance of our safety programs, ensuring full compliance with OSHA and local regulations while fostering a strong behavioral safety culture. You will serve as the site Safety Officer and EHS Committee lead, conducting regular audits and risk assessments to proactively mitigate workplace hazards. Additionally, you will partner cross-functionally to support facility expansions and equipment installations through EHS design reviews, lead incident investigations, manage hazardous materials, and deliver comprehensive training programs to maintain a safe, compliant, and collaborative manufacturing environment.
This position generally requires a commitment of 4 days onsite per week.

Responsibilities

- Develop, implement, and maintain environmental, health, and safety policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with OSHA and local regulatory requirements.
- Serve as the Safety Officer and lead the EHS Committee, driving cross functional involvement and a strong behavioral safety culture
- Support facility improvements/expansions and equipment installations by conducting EHS design reviews and safety assessments in conjunction with the engineering teams.
- Conduct regular site safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
- Work closely with Johnson Controls corporate safety group to support company wide policies, compliance, and initiatives.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation to prevent future occurrences.
- Manage hazardous materials handling, storage, and disposal processes, including waste characterization and documentation.
- Deliver EHS training programs to employees and contractors to ensure a strong culture of safety and compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years experience driving safety in a design and manufacturing environment
- Proven experience conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead safety training programs and engage employees at all levels.
- Experience with EHS implementations in conjunction with facility build-outs
Preferred Qualifications
● Experience with safety in design and development of capital equipment.
SALARY RANGE: $85,000 - 127,800 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This role offers a competitive Bonus plan that will take into account individual, group, and corporate performance. This position includes a competitive benefits package.
