Accountabilities:
- Lead the evaluation, development, and approval of repairs, modifications, and engineering dispositions for avionics and electrical systems across Airbus and Embraer aircraft
- Review and respond to Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, and technical documentation to ensure regulatory compliance and operational readiness
- Develop engineering orders, technical reports, test plans, and system specifications supporting modifications and troubleshooting activities
- Provide subject matter expertise for avionics architecture, including flight management systems, data link communications, and related avionics subsystems
- Support airline operations and maintenance teams in resolving complex technical issues, including AOG situations and system failures
- Collaborate with regulatory authorities (FAA, ANAC, and others) to obtain approvals for modifications and ensure continued airworthiness
- Evaluate emerging avionics technologies and recommend improvements aligned with operational efficiency, safety, and cost objectives
- Contribute to internal standards, procedures, and best practices for avionics engineering and systems reliability
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a focus on Avionics or Electrical Systems (or equivalent experience)
- 7+ years of engineering experience in aircraft avionics and electrical systems design, modification, troubleshooting, or repair
- 2+ years of experience working within a Part 121 airline or equivalent operational environment
- Strong knowledge of aircraft systems architecture, including flight management systems and aeronautical data link communications
- Experience with ARINC-429 and ARINC-717 data buses, with working knowledge of IP security principles
- Familiarity with FAA regulatory frameworks (14 CFR Parts 21, 25, 91, and 121) and airworthiness processes
- Ability to produce detailed technical documentation, including engineering reports, compliance analyses, and test plans
- Experience working with Airbus and/or Embraer aircraft systems strongly preferred
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in high-pressure environments
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical findings to engineering, operations, and leadership teams
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally as required
- Competitive salary range: $100,000 – $120,000 (based on experience and qualifications)
