Accountabilities:
- Manage daily accounts receivable operations and supervise A/R specialists supporting client healthcare organizations.
- Lead, coach, and develop team members through training, performance monitoring, goal setting, and ongoing feedback.
- Monitor outstanding patient accounts, identify billing issues, resolve claim denials, and implement strategies to accelerate cash collection.
- Review account accuracy, including billing codes, patient demographics, insurance details, and reimbursement processes.
- Analyze A/R trends, payer performance, denial patterns, and operational metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
- Develop and execute action plans to reduce outstanding balances and improve revenue cycle outcomes.
- Prepare performance reports, dashboards, and analysis for leadership review and client discussions.
- Conduct team meetings focused on productivity, training, process improvements, and achievement of collection goals.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, payer requirements, and applicable credit and collection guidelines.
- Support business office operations across multiple financial classes, including Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, managed care, and self-pay accounts.
- Maintain and improve standard operating procedures while promoting operational consistency and efficiency.
- Collaborate with management and client teams to communicate findings, resolve challenges, and enhance overall financial performance.
- Minimum of five years of hospital business office billing and collections experience, including at least two years in a managerial or leadership role.
- Strong understanding of healthcare revenue cycle management, A/R processes, billing operations, and key performance indicators.
- Experience working with hospital, clinic, or business office operations, including payer processes and reimbursement requirements.
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, managed care, and self-pay collection processes.
- Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and develop practical solutions to improve performance.
- Experience with billing software, electronic health records systems, and reporting or data analysis tools.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams, delegate responsibilities, and promote collaboration.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for working with patients, payers, clients, and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to provide hands-on training, manage employee performance, and support team development.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in medical billing, healthcare administration, or related fields is a plus.
- Ability to work remotely while traveling approximately 70–80% to client locations.
