The Global New Accounts & Underwriting organization supports the end-to-end underwriting lifecycle for American Express Corporate customers through specialized operational and underwriting support functions.
The Corporate Maintenance Team plays a critical role in supporting the corporate underwriting process by preparing, maintaining, and validating financial documentation and case information to support efficient underwriting workflows. Corporate Specialists provide operational support that enables efficient case processing while maintaining high standards of quality, compliance, and customer experience.
As a globally aligned team, the Corporate Maintenance Team supports multiple markets across the American Express international footprint. Corporate Specialists are expected to develop cross-functional knowledge and the flexibility to support a variety of processes and regional business needs, helping ensure consistent service delivery across global markets while partnering effectively with stakeholders across multiple time zones.
This role is responsible for case preparation, document management, financial information validation, and workflow support for Corporate customer accounts. Corporate Specialists help ensure cases are complete, accurate, and processed in accordance with established policies, procedures, and service level agreements, contributing to a seamless experience for customers and business partners.
To support the team's global responsibilities, this position requires flexibility to work a mid-shift schedule that aligns with business needs across multiple regions and time zones.
Process Corporate Maintenance requests and support corporate underwriting workflows within established service level agreements (SLAs).
Prepare, maintain, and validate financial documentation and case information to ensure accurate and timely case processing.
Create, update, and maintain customer cases across multiple systems while ensuring documentation is complete and audit ready.
Review submitted documentation for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to established requirements before routing for further processing.
Identify, organize, and associate financial documents such as Balance Sheets, Income Statements, Cash Flow Statements, tax documents, and other supporting materials to the appropriate cases.
Utilize multiple internal systems and approved external resources to validate business information and support case preparation activities.
Effectively manage multiple workflows while balancing quality, productivity, and turnaround time expectations.
Communicate professionally with internal business partners (CFR, GCS, amongst others) to resolve documentation questions, obtain required information, and provide case status updates.
Demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail while processing sensitive customer and financial information.
Ensure compliance with American Express policies, operational procedures, regulatory requirements, and data privacy standards.
Build strong working relationships with cross-functional partners to support an efficient and seamless customer experience.
Identify opportunities to improve operational processes, enhance quality, and increase team efficiencies through continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain flexibility to support changing business priorities, new processes, and additional operational responsibilities as business needs evolve.
1–3 years of experience in financial services, underwriting support, commercial operations, or a related operational environment.
Working knowledge of commercial underwriting processes, policies, and procedures within American Express or a comparable financial institution.
Basic understanding of business financial statements, including Balance Sheets, Income Statements, Cash Flow Statements, and supporting financial documentation.
Ability to review financial documentation for completeness, consistency, and adherence to established requirements.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate information, identify discrepancies, and determine appropriate next steps.
Demonstrated ability to work with multiple systems and applications while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with internal stakeholders.
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing workloads in a fast-paced environment.

Experience supporting Commercial or Corporate Underwriting operations within American Express or a comparable financial institution.

Experience identifying process improvement opportunities and contributing to operational efficiencies in a production-based environment.
Working knowledge of American Express platforms such as GRU, CRO, C360, and CSP, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field preferred.
Equivalent professional experience in commercial underwriting support, financial operations, or corporate servicing will also be considered.
