Accountabilities:

    As an Engineering Manager, Payments, you will lead engineering teams responsible for developing and operating reliable payment systems at global scale. You will establish technical direction, support team growth, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver impactful products while maintaining operational excellence.

    • Define and execute long-term technical strategies and architectures that support business growth and future product needs.
    • Lead engineering teams in designing, building, launching, and maintaining scalable, reliable, and high-performance payment solutions.
    • Partner with product, design, data, finance, legal, compliance, operations, and external stakeholders to deliver customer-focused experiences.
    • Establish clear priorities, align engineering efforts with business objectives, and manage complex technical and product tradeoffs.
    • Foster a culture of engineering excellence through strong development practices, quality standards, reliability improvements, and operational discipline.
    • Guide technical leads and engineers in making effective architectural decisions while reducing technical debt.
    • Empower individual contributors to expand their impact by leading initiatives across teams and platforms.
    • Build, retain, and develop high-performing engineering teams through effective coaching, hiring, and talent development.
    • Promote an inclusive and collaborative team environment focused on innovation, diversity, and continuous improvement.
    • Requirements:

      The ideal candidate is an experienced engineering leader with a strong background in backend systems, people management, and large-scale technology platforms. You should be comfortable balancing technical strategy, business priorities, and team development in a fast-paced environment.

      • 3–5+ years of experience managing engineering teams and 9+ years of relevant software development experience in a technology environment.
      • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
      • Strong expertise in designing and building large-scale backend systems and user-facing applications.
      • Proven experience leading and delivering complex engineering initiatives with significant business impact.
      • Strong technical judgment and ability to make balanced decisions between short-term needs and long-term platform health.
      • Experience collaborating with multiple engineering teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
      • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence technical and business decisions.
      • Strong product mindset with experience creating intuitive and high-quality user experiences.
      • Ability to adapt leadership style based on team needs and organizational context.
      • Demonstrated ability to hire, mentor, retain, and grow engineering talent.
      • Commitment to fostering inclusive, diverse, and engaging team environments.
      • Experience building systems requiring high levels of reliability, scalability, security, and availability.
      • Benefits:

        • Competitive base salary range of approximately $212,000–$265,000 USD depending on experience, skills, location, and market factors.
