Introduction to team

Travel Partnerships and Advertising helps partners, including hotels, vacation rentals, airlines, destination marketing organizations (DMOs) and more, deliver excellent traveler and B2B experiences. We drive growth for our partners and the Expedia Group marketplace through competitive supply and our leading advertising and travel media network.

Make an impact

As an Area Manager in the Market Management team within TPA, you will lead a team that grows our lodging marketplace by building strong relationships with hotel and property partners in your assigned area. You will use Expedia Group’s data, marketing reach, and technology to help partners maximize their performance on our platform while meeting ambitious revenue and acquisition goals. This is a high-visibility opportunity to shape market strategy, influence senior stakeholders, and elevate Expedia Group’s profile in the local travel ecosystem.

In this role, you will

  • Lead the execution of market business plans to meet or exceed revenue, acquisition, and strategic goals for your assigned area.
  • Manage and develop a team of Market Managers, providing ongoing coaching to elevate performance, skills, and capabilities.
  • Strong ownership and accountability of assigned metrics, driving the right business levers to achieve targets set.
  • Engage with Senior Stakeholders in the industry, such as C-Level Hotel partners, owner groups, etc.
  • Partner cross-functionally to plan and implement Expedia Group initiatives, anticipating market impact and ensuring smooth rollout in your territory.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture, maintaining strong working relationships, productivity, and morale.

Experience and qualifications

  • 5–8 years of experience in sales, account management, business development, or a related commercial role, including 2+ years of experience achieving and setting ambitious goals as a people leader.
  • Proven success leading teams and cross-functional initiatives in a fast-paced, matrixed environment, with strong project management skills to prioritize multiple initiatives and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to use data and analytics to develop insights, make sound commercial recommendations, and drive long-term partner relationships and marketplace initiatives.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to pitch, present, and influence internal and external decision makers at all levels.
  • Proficiency with CRM and project management tools (for example, Salesforce and Microsoft Project) and strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • High-impact, results-focused mindset: you are resourceful, motivated, able to manage time and priorities effectively, and comfortable adapting quickly in a dynamic environment, including traveling approximately 20–30% of the time.
