We are seeking a talented individual to join our Regional Finance team at Marsh. This role will be based in Lisbon. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

 

This team supports the UK and Europe Finance teams for Marsh. This role will be mainly focused on supporting either continental European teams or the UK's FP&A activity.

 

We will count on you to:

  • Analyze basic financial data and quantitative analyses, in order to support sound and defensible recommendations;
  • Review and conduct simple analysis of financial planning information and reports, and make recommendations for changes to management;
  • Conduct basic audit activities, in order to comply with requirements;
  • Maintain best practices policies, in order to maintain compliance with regulatory standards;
  • Communicate with management on a consistent basis, to ensure sound fiscal management;
  • Assist in the month end close process by preparing recurring/standard and ad hoc reports, researching general ledger activities and variances to budget and prior year;
  • Evaluate financial plans by identifying financial outcomes and potential returns;
  • Assist in the development of budgets and quarterly forecasts; tracks and reports initiatives;
  • Prepare financial planning information and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends;
  • Improve financial planning job knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices.

 

What you need to have:    

  • Overall 7+ years relevant business experience;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with fluent business English;
  • Strong stakeholder management and business partnering skills, with the confidence to engage with senior regional stakeholders and leadership;
  • A proactive mindset, with the ability to ask the right questions and understand the broader business context;
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail;
  • Proficient in MS Office, Advanced Excel (manipulate big data) and PowerPoint;
  • Ability to independently manage priorities, take ownership and deliver against tight deadlines;
  • Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions, cultures and geographies;
  • Ability to adapt to a changing regional business environment;
  • Active team player with the ability to work across geographies, to multi-task, to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

 

What makes you stand out:

  • Have experience within a Finance department of a multinational firm;
  • Previous exposure to regional or multi-country environments;
  • Experience working directly with senior stakeholders and business leaders;
  • Experience with BI tools, dashboards, automation or reporting efficiency initiatives;
  • Experience with Oracle or other enterprise financial systems;
  • Strong interest in systems, technology and continuous improvement.
