JOB SUMMARY
The Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen by cleaning dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Clean and sanitize dishes, silverware, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment
- Operate dishwashing machines safely and effectively
- Maintain sanitation standards in all kitchen and food service areas
- Stock and organize kitchen supplies and utensils
- Clean food preparation and serving areas (counters, trays, utensils)
- Transport dishware and supplies using carts and bus tubs
- Follow company policies, attendance standards, and regulatory requirements
- ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks (pushing, pulling, bending, reaching)
- Must be able to work in hot, high-temperature environments (up to 115°F near dish machines)
- Ability to use cleaning chemicals safely (e.g., bleach, oven cleaner)
- Capable of operating dishwashing equipment
- Must respond effectively to visual and auditory cues
- Minimum 6 months of kitchen or food service experience
- Basic English communication skills
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including all shifts and weekends
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Professional appearance and grooming
