Job Summary:

Customer-facing and focused, fully proficient at an advanced level in various engine products, capable of completing highly complex problem-solving, troubleshooting, diagnostics, repairs, and rebuilds. May specialize in one or multiple engine products and/or market segments in a service workshop.

Works independently while leading by example to ensure site productivity and safety standards are maintained. Spends a significant amount of time coaching and providing technical supervision to less experienced technicians, supporting their development and maintaining a continuous pipeline of talent within the function.

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in (Regina, SK). 

Will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop

  • Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools

  • Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles

  • Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies

  • Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products

  • Maintain own tools

 

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Completes complex internal engine repairs

  • Performs complex unassisted engine overhauls 

  • Ability to troubleshoot with limited/no support from diagnostic tools

  • Detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components

  • Mentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation
     

We are seeking a skilled, reliable, and safety-minded Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and servicing medium and heavy-duty trucks and transport vehicles as well as various Cummins powered industrial equipment. The ideal candidate holds a valid Journeyman certification, possesses strong diagnostic skills, and prides themselves on high-quality workmanship to keep our customers running safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnostics & Repair: Troubleshoot and diagnose complex mechanical and electrical faults on Cummins powered equipment using advanced diagnostic software and tools.
  • Component Overhaul: Repair or replace major components, including engines, transmissions, differentials, steering mechanisms, fuel systems, and emissions control systems.
  • Electrical & Systems: Inspect and repair charging systems, starting systems, lighting, and electronic control modules.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all repairs comply with company safety standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workspace.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Certification: Valid Journeyman Truck and Transport, Heavy Duty, Automotive or Agriculture  certifications considered (possibility of apprenticeship with the proper applicant)
  • Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience working in relevant fields.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency with modern diagnostic software (e.g., Cummins Insite or generic scan tools).
  • Tools: Must possess a comprehensive set of personal hand tools appropriate for heavy truck repair.

-This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations and must meet the conditions of the company policy

 

Education, Licenses, Certifications:Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred).
Certificate of secondary education or Vocational Diploma equivalent/ Trade Certificate or equivalent experience (Preferred).
Locally valid driving permit (Preferred).
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:Expert level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
Experience providing technical advice and coaching to more junior technicians.
Experience in dual trade or multiple market segments (preferred).
More than [3] years experience at a Level III technician (preferred).
Excellent customer service skills
