Scope of Position:
- Safety Engineering role supporting Applied Materials’ R&D and manufacturing operations
- Work closely with site management in R&D and manufacturing and other EHS staff to drive Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) programs, ensure regulatory compliance and promote continuous improvement
- Ensures compliance with required EHS codes, standards and regulations. Act as a liaison with local, regional or national regulatory authorities
- EHS Training capabilities & experience conducting training for employees and management
- Ensures proper investigations of EHS incidents conducted and drive corrective actions to closure
- Provides management with updates and escalation on projects/programs. Maintain communication channel with site/location functions
- Interfaces with internal stakeholders regarding EHS aspects with ability to work with cross functional teams to accomplish goals and objectives
- Manage consultants/contractors used to support the EHS programs including development of scopes of work, project management and budget management. Ensures that all work is assigned appropriately and that results are obtained and evaluated
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor or master’s degree in the field of (electrical/ mechanical/electronics) Engineering or comparable education desired
- Utaly Certificate as occupational safety engineer RSPP is required
- Minimum of 5 years professional experience in an EHS function in a comparable industry (R+D manufacturing operations)
- Knowledge of EHS legislation and implementation in Italy
- Experience with general EHS auditing to identify opportunities for improvement and provide suitable recommendations for corrective actions
- Good knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel and PowerPoint
- Readiness for occasional travelling from time to time
- Excellent Italian and English skills

NoThe salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
