Payment Lifecycle Senior Specialist - OFAC Investigations & Sanction Services
Be part of JPMorganChase’s operations team supporting global payments, where accuracy, speed, and client focus matter. In this role, you’ll investigate and resolve USD activity inquiries received from financial institutions, corporate clients, and internal partners—helping ensure timely, high-quality outcomes for our customers. You’ll also support processing of multi-currency payments for global clients, contributing to smooth day-to-day transaction execution and issue resolution.
As a Payment Lifecycle Senior Specialist in JPMorganChase’s operations team supporting global payments, you will investigate and resolve USD activity inquiries received from financial institutions, corporate clients, and internal partners—helping ensure timely, high-quality outcomes for our customers.
Job responsibilities:
- Analyze, prioritize, and resolve payment-related inquiries and cases accurately and within defined service standards (SLAs).
- Own assigned cases end-to-end, including timely follow-ups, stakeholder coordination, and clear status updates until closure.
- Initiate, verify, and process payments and related adjustments, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to procedures/controls.
- Maintain strong working knowledge of relevant systems and applications; stay current on process changes and system enhancements.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with internal partners and (where applicable) external stakeholders through concise written and verbal updates.
- Identify recurring processing issues and exception drivers; recommend and support process improvements to reduce rework and prevent future occurrences.
- Apply basic accounting concepts to support reconciliations, investigation, and accurate resolution of payment discrepancies.
- Demonstrate reliability and professionalism through consistent attendance, punctuality, and disciplined case management.
- Provide shift coverage and work overtime as required to meet business needs and service commitments.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in payments processing, payments operations, or related financial services operations roles.
- Working knowledge of international payment processing operations, including key end-to-end workflows, investigation/repair, and exception handling.
- Familiarity with payments messaging and networks, including ISO standards (e.g., ISO 20022), SWIFT, and wire transfer processing.
- Strong client and service mindset, with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and high-quality resolution.
- Proven ownership and follow-through, including proactive problem-solving, root-cause identification, and appropriate escalation when required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal partners and external stakeholders across levels.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience in back-office or operations roles within a bank or financial services organization
- Strong analytical and PC proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); MS Access knowledge preferred/beneficial.
