The Senior Sales & Technical Operations Specialist plays a key role in enhancing the productivity and effectiveness of the sales and support organization through the use of technology, data insights, and process improvement. This role is primarily responsible for supporting the development and execution of TDS’s strategic and tactical initiatives focused on acquiring, retaining, implementing, growing, and billing profitable customers.

 

This position leverages CRM systems, data analysis, and workflow optimization to drive business outcomes. Responsibilities include managing and interpreting data across multiple systems, ensuring data accuracy through validation and augmentation, supporting system integrations, and delivering actionable insights through analytics.

The role is heavily focused on enabling the Commercial Sales and Support organization through CRM enhancements and broader business transformation initiatives. Working in close partnership with the Manager of Sales & Technical Operations, this individual will collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Support, Marketing, and IT teams to identify business challenges, define requirements, and design and implement effective solutions.

 

Additionally, this role will support project execution by gathering, organizing, and analyzing data and related artifacts needed to inform decision-making and ensure successful delivery of initiatives.

 

Shift: This position will work Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm in any time zone. 

 

This position has the ability to work remotely in any of the 40+ States in which TDS Telecom operates.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and support strategies for ongoing sales and support technology, tools and systems that enhance the productivity and effectiveness of the commercial sales and support teams and channel partners.  Initiate and sponsor projects involving changes, upgrades or testing of sales tools, translate user requests, create, and maintain deliverables associated with Project Definition, Analysis, Design, Testing, and Rollout.  Support the Manager – Sales Technical Operations with efforts to partner with IT to address system requirements, and implementation needs.
  • Develop reporting and analyze trends and results to provide strategic direction to the commercial sales and support leaders to drive productivity and sales revenue. Define process, reporting and/or formulas to support daily management to the sales equation. Including, but not limited to strategic measurements such as utilization, and forecasting percentages. Tactical measurements such as agent logins/utilization, marketing program accuracy, funnel accuracy, opportunity stages and duration.
  • Work with Commercial COAST to Create training documentation, plans and champions execution of such training.  Work closely with commercial sales and support leadership and users to identify key training needs among users. Develop, implement, and manage training curriculum and programs regarding sales technology, system adherence and processes.
  • Develop and implement strategy for ongoing data management, integrity, validation, and augmentation in the sales force automation tools Work closely with marketing and IT on data steward activities, while focusing on data integrity through identifying gaps and improvements.
  • Support all IT and corporate initiatives that will be implemented into the sales environment at the local level.  These special projects include key initiatives from IT, marketing, or sales leadership.  The role will represent the commercial sales and support group on project meetings, system/network enhancements and special projects as key contributor and primary sales operations representative.
  • Support and lead the testing initiatives for ongoing CRM updates and changes, working closely with the Manager – Sales & Technical Operations

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree (or higher) -OR- 4+ years professional work experience.
  • 2+ years’ experience working in sales or marketing operations, business system support role or of Information Technology and/or Business Analysis/Process experience.[CS1]
  • 2+ years business analytics or CRM / Sales force automation experience or database application/systems management.

 

Other Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience working closely with Sales Operations, Product Marketing, Sales, Finance and IT in data analysis and reporting functions.
  • Strong team player with ability to develop effective working relationships across organization: marketing, sales, sales operations, and IT with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Good understanding of contact center and/or sales organization processes, procedures, and the reasons behind them.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience and vice versa.
  • Strong analytical, organization, and decision-making skills.
  • Time Management skills.
  • Strong understanding of business office applications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work through ambiguity and multitudes of decision to complete work and accomplish goals.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, including presentation skills.
  • Understands the database configuration, rules, tables, fields, and structure, and the reasoning behind configurations; can speak for the design and functionality of system modules and tools.

The listed pay range reflects the minimum and maximum base salary. Actual offers will be based on factors such as skills, qualifications, experience, location, and role-specific competencies. Some positions may also offer additional compensation, such as bonuses or equity awards.
