Apply and join us!About the JobAn OffSec Student Mentor is responsible for providing support and guidance to OffSec students via live chat, support email and grading exams.  Exam grading will be based on the certification(s) the individual has achieved.  Based on the candidate’s strengths and capabilities, duties will include supporting various project assignments such as onsite, online, or remote course training; vulnerable machine testing; wiki creation; troubleshooting network connectivity; and software development. Additional tasks may be assigned as needed.The Student Mentor role is a full-time salaried position with shift work required, including evenings and weekends. This position requires availability for shifts scheduled across a 24/7 coverage model.Duties and responsibilitiesEngage, collaborate and help students in OffSec Community Platform, live chat and support emailPresent a live stream or webinar for concept demonstration, machine walkthroughs, or topics related to cybersecurityParticipate in projects including, but not limited to, curriculum and learning path designs, new course reviews, test lab machines, and the implementation of new tools and systems, etc.Exam gradingTest, configure, deploy, and troubleshoot OffSec lab systems and machinesCreate and maintain department document guidelines, procedures and processesEnsure daily tasks and ongoing student support are completed timely and satisfactoryReview and approve accommodation requests and supporting documentation, and maintain records of accommodation decisions.Assist cross-functional teams as needed.Ability to work a shift schedule, including flexibility to adjust to different time zones as needed.International travel to customer locations or training conferences will proceed without travel restrictions as needed.QualificationsOSCP certificationCyberSecurity mindset for creative and innovative problem solvingFluency in reading, writing, and comprehension of English3+ years of well-rounded IT experience, including at least 2 years in server-side technologies and management, as well as experience operating and troubleshooting Linux and WindowsFamiliarity with enterprise-level networking configurationFamiliarity with defense cybersecurity, such as SOC, IR, TH, MITRE D3FEND, and NICE framework, is a plus.A strong drive to continually improve customer experience, success, and engagement, leveraging data and metrics.Excellent interpersonal and customer service skillsStrong attention to detail, with excellent analytical and investigation skillsAbility to work unsupervised in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlinesA strong belief and understanding of being a team player in a remote working environmentDesired SkillsExperience in teaching and mentoring Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong knowledge of networking, virtualization, Windows, storage, and backupPrior experience working remotelyExperience working with customer service ticketing system(s)Strong problem-solving skillsWorking ConditionsThis is a full time position to be performed from your...
