**Your role and responsibilities**
The position is for skilled test professionals to perform Hardware System test validation. They will perform system assurance tests and create test cases on scaled scenarios on different versions of the latest family of IBM Power servers utilizing several versions of PHYP, Power Firmware, AIX / VIOS, and Linux releases.
Employees will be working closely with Development and Functional test organization in defining the test planning, scoping the valid scenarios for Line Items/Features. Employees will also work on troubleshooting and debugging customer field issues and incorporating test cases/updating existing test cases to further strengthen the test plan to maintain high product quality and customer satisfaction.
**Required technical and professional expertise**
*
4-10 years of experience, with at least 5+ years of hands-on experience in installing, configuring, tuning, and troubleshooting enterprise server environments.
*
Proficient in developing and executing test automation using Python and Robot Framework, including creating new test cases, maintaining automation suites, and performing both manual and automated testing.
*
Strong experience in test planning, test case design, execution, and regression testing, ensuring comprehensive coverage based on product requirements and workload scenarios. Familiarity with Engineering Workflow Management (EWM) is an added advantage.
*
Experienced in end-to-end defect management, including defect identification, logging, root cause analysis, tracking, verification, and closure.
*
Strong expertise in hardware and system validation testing, including driving test activities, reporting progress/issues, and validating operating system functionality across enterprise server platforms.
*
Deep understanding of Linux/AIX operating system internals and Kernel concepts, including Processor Architecture, Memory Management, Virtualization, Scheduling, Networking, Security, Filesystems, and I/O subsystems.
*
Hands-on experience with Networking technologies, including Ethernet, TCP/IP, VLANs, network configuration, performance analysis, and troubleshooting.
*
Strong knowledge of Fibre Channel (FC) and RDMA protocols, including configuration, validation, performance testing, and debugging of FC/RDMA adapters, switches, and storage/network fabrics. Experience in protocol-level troubleshooting and performance optimization is highly desirable.
*
Good understanding of virtualization and I/O virtualization technologies, including Host Network Virtualization (HNV), SR-IOV, vNIC, NPIV, and Live Partition Mobility (LPM) within enterprise server environments.
*
Experienced in system administration activities, including OS installation and maintenance, filesystem and LVM management, command-line administration in AIX/Linux environments, device and I/O management, and IBM PowerVM administration.
*
Knowledge of Agile and DevOps methodologies, including Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Deployment (CD), and Continuous Testing (CT) practices.
*
Ability to independently handle testing, debugging, and problem determination activities, while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams.
*
Strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, and a proven track record of working in high-performance team environments.
*
Exposure to IBM Power Systems, PowerVM, and enterprise virtualization technologies will be considered a strong advantage.
