Cohesity is seeking a Senior Tax Associate to join our growing Tax team, reporting to the US Tax Director. This is a broad, generalist tax role. You will work across direct and indirect tax, supporting income tax provision and compliance, owning pieces of indirect and non-income tax compliance.

This role is ideal for a tax professional ready to expand their technical breadth and take on meaningful ownership in a lean, high-impact environment. You will work closely with the Tax Director, global tax colleagues, external advisors, and cross-functional partners across Finance, Legal, and Accounting.

HOW YOU'LL SPEND YOUR TIME HERE:

Income Tax & Provision

  • Support the US Tax Director on quarterly ASC 740 income tax provision.

  • Assist with federal and state income tax compliance review, including return workpaper review, open item tracking, and liaison with external preparers

  • Support responses to tax notices.

Indirect Tax Compliance

  • Participate in the monthly sales & use tax compliance cycle, including review and oversight of returns processed through Avalara across Cohesity.

  • Review Canada GST work papers and filings.

  • Prepare or review non-income tax filings and other local business taxes

  • Oversee property tax compliance

  • Review and approve monthly indirect tax journal entries and GL reconciliations

  • Coordinate new state and local jurisdiction registrations as business activity expands

Audit & Controversy Support

  • Support active audits including IDR responses, document production, and auditor coordination

Process Improvement & Technology

  • Participate in tax automation and process improvement initiatives, including AI-assisted tax tools

  • Identify and implement opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy across the compliance cycle

WE'D LOVE TO TALK TO YOU IF YOU HAVE MANY OF THE FOLLOWING:

  • 4–7 years of tax experience in public accounting, industry, or both

  • Working knowledge of sales & use tax compliance; multi-state filing experience required

  • Exposure to income tax concepts — ASC 740 provision, federal/state compliance, or both

  • Familiarity with NetSuite or a comparable ERP for journal entries and account reconciliations

  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent work streams and competing deadlines with minimal oversight

  • Strong documentation habits and attention to detail

  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication

  • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support decision making

Disclosure Pursuant to Applicable State Equal Pay Transparency Laws - This position has a starting pay range as listed below. Actual salary depends upon many factors, including a candidate’s skills, qualifications and experience, location, and salary expectations, and therefore a starting salary at the low end, high end, or even above the stated range may be offered. This position may also be eligible for bonus compensation, commission (if in a sales function), and/or equity grants. Additionally, full-time employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive benefits framework, including health and wellness benefits, vacation, paid holidays and refresh days, 401(k) retirement plan, life and disability insurance coverages, and other benefits the Company may offer from time to time.

Pay Range :

$95,200.00-$119,000.00

The compensation noted above is based on an annualized hourly rate assuming normal full-time employment.
