The Accountant is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial accounting and reporting. The role supports the day-to-day financial operations of the business, including bookkeeping, statutory compliance, tax reporting, and month-end close activities, in line with group accounting policies and local regulatory requirements. The Accountant plays a key role in maintaining financial integrity, transparency, and operational efficiency while supporting the growth of the business in Mozambique.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
3-6 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably within logistics, freight forwarding, or a similar industry.
Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and local tax regulations in Mozambique.
Experience with ERP systems and strong Excel skills.
Experience working in an international or multicultural environment is an advantage.
Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
Solid accounting and financial reporting skills with SAGE experience.
Good understanding of compliance, tax, and internal controls.
Ability to work independently while aligning with group finance standards.
Responsibilities
Maintain accurate accounting records in line with IFRS and Group policies
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports; support closing processes
Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, collections, and payments
Monitor cash flow, perform bank reconciliations, and support daily cash management
Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and handle VAT, WHT, and statutory filings
Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Maintain strong internal controls and support audits and regulatory requirements
Contribute to process improvements and effective use of ERP/accounting systems
