Accountabilities:

    As a Data Scientist III, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting data-focused solutions for cybersecurity and technology modernization initiatives. You will leverage analytics, automation, and security expertise to improve data migration processes, strengthen cyber capabilities, and support mission-critical outcomes.

    • Develop and support data-oriented solutions for cybersecurity use cases, including machine learning algorithms, data models, and architecture strategies for cyber defense.
    • Perform data discovery, analysis, transformation, and migration activities across complex security environments.
    • Create automated scripts for data extraction, parsing, processing, and workflow optimization.
    • Analyze data exports, map schemas between legacy and modern systems, and transform information into compliant target formats.
    • Support migration of security documentation, including System Security Plans, control artifacts, assessment trackers, and Risk Management Framework (RMF) materials.
    • Identify, categorize, and prepare RMF artifacts for migration, archival, or modernization activities.
    • Leverage AI technologies to improve data migration workflows and increase operational efficiency.
    • Review repositories and legacy systems to identify workflows, dashboards, reports, and critical documentation requiring migration.
    • Reproduce and optimize workflows, dashboards, and reporting capabilities within modern governance and compliance platforms.
    • Develop cybersecurity data visualizations, dashboards, and reporting solutions for high-visibility initiatives.
    • Collaborate with technical teams to support cloud, security, and data engineering efforts.
    • Requirements:

      The ideal candidate brings strong experience in cybersecurity data science, automation, and security engineering, with the ability to translate complex technical requirements into reliable data-driven solutions. This role requires a combination of analytical thinking, programming expertise, and knowledge of secure technology environments.

      • Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Cybersecurity, Data Science, or a related technical field.
      • 5+ years of professional experience working with cybersecurity and IT data.
      • Strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices and security engineering principles.
      • Experience working with Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes and security compliance requirements.
      • Experience developing and modifying scripts for automation, extraction, and data processing.
      • Experience mapping data schemas, inheritance models, and Common Control Catalogs.
      • Knowledge of OSCAL and security data transformation standards.
      • Experience supporting federal systems and government technology environments.
      • Experience working with AWS GovCloud or similar secure cloud environments.
      • Understanding of System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) processes and Agile methodologies.
      • Familiarity with Cloud Service Provider solutions, including IaaS and SaaS environments.
      • Experience with SIEM and SOAR platforms and cybersecurity automation capabilities.
      • Knowledge of host-based and network-based security technologies.
      • Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK and D3FEND frameworks.
      • Ability to create cybersecurity reporting, dashboards, and data visualizations.
      • Experience using AI tools to support data analysis, automation, or migration activities is preferred.
      • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/Q security clearance; candidates must be prepared to begin the clearance process if required.
