The Operational Procurement Manager is responsible for managing the operational purchase ordering procurement needs using Oracle for our sites in UK & USA, with the support of 2 procurement coordinators.
This position reports to the Senior Global Procurement Director and is part of the global procurement team, the role is an on-site role, based in Waltham (USA) .
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Demonstrated capability to own procurement execution within Oracle, including requisition flow, PO management, supplier master data, catalogues, and procurement reporting. The role is expected to actively improve data quality, cycle times, and automation in the procurement process, acting as an escalation point for system or user issues
- Lead deployment/design of ERP Enhancements the resolution of ERP procurement incidents.
- Accountable for controlling and improving day‑to‑day cost performance, particularly on high‑usage and high‑value materials. This includes identifying cost pressure, supporting negotiations within delegated authority, delivering savings through operational levers. The focus is cost control and execution.
- Ensures all procurement activity is fully compliant with Quality policies, SOPs, approval thresholds, and audit requirements. Acts as first‑line control owner for operational procurement, with a strong understanding of what is and is not permissible in execution (e.g. requisition splitting, supplier setup, delegation of authority
- Leads, coaches, and prioritizes work for Operational Procurement Coordinators, ensuring clear accountability, capability uplift, and consistent execution
- Owns the day‑to‑day operational execution of the Supplier Risk & Sustainability process at site level, including:
- Monitoring and reviewing supplier sustainability and risk alerts
- Ensuring sustainability risks are surfaced, logged, and reviewed through existing scorecards or reviews
- Escalating material sustainability or ethical risks via defined governance routes
- Ensure timely reporting of global procurement KPIs and other business metrics/reports.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Bachelor’s degree in business-related disciplines such as Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, or an equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in procurement roles, with demonstrated capability in supplier management, contract negotiation, and cost analysis.
- At least 3 years’ experience in a leadership or people‑management role, including coaching, prioritization of work, and performance management.
- 3+ years hands‑on procurement experience, with exposure to Oracle ERP systems and business intelligence / reporting tools preferred.
- Proven experience in Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and contract management, including ongoing supplier performance and governance activities.
- Professional procurement certification (e.g. CIPS, CPSM, CIPM, CIPP, NGIP or equivalent) preferred but not required
- Expected to actively identify and implement process improvements across procurement execution – reducing waste, improving cycle time, strengthening controls, and standardizing ways of working in line with Danaher Business System principles
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
- Ability to travel to UK/US as per business need
- Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Life Sciences Industry
- Oracle Cloud procurement applications
- Continuous improvements

The annual salary range for this role is $91,500-$115,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
