Global Corporate Banking – Head of Tech & Innovation Economy, Executive Director, Korea

The Innovation Economy team is part of the Global Corporate Bank. The Innovation Economy team provides commercial banking and lending services to high growth technology and technology-enabled companies, ranging from early stage to public companies.

As a senior banker in the Innovation Economy Team within the Global Corporate Bank, you will play a crucial role in building and nurturing relationships with high-growth technology companies in South Korea. You will work closely with various lines of business to deliver comprehensive banking solutions, including corporate banking, investment banking, and asset management services. Your efforts will help facilitate the growth of our clients and position JP Morgan as a trusted partner in their success.

Job Responsibilities:

• Build and develop relationships with Corporate Banking clients in sectors such as E-Commerce, SaaS, Deep Technologies, FinTech and Digital Assets.
• Identify new product growth areas and establish new client relationships with Founders and Venture Capital Firms.
• Develop forward-looking business plans for clients and maintain existing business relationships.
• Recruit and manage a team of Relationship Managers to help service the identified client set. 
• Market a comprehensive range of solutions, including FX, flow derivatives, traditional credit, venture debt, investments and treasury services.
• Partner with Compliance and Risk functions on regulatory compliance and operational excellence with FinTech clientele.
• Conduct comprehensive client analysis to identify business needs and convert them into financial solutions.
• Collaborate with Investment Banking, Payments, Private Banking, Asset Management, and other lines of business on client coverage efforts.
• Work with Credit teams on risk profiling of portfolio clients and prospects.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

• Bachelor Degree in Finance, Economic, or other related fields.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant industry experience, particularly on Innovation Economy sectors.
• Strong knowledge of the local market and proven ability to build and develop client relationships, win new business, and close transactions.
• Able to call at the Founder/CEO/CFO level and strong corporate finance, credit, and transaction execution skills.
• Strong understanding of local regulatory guidelines applicable to the FinTech industry.
• Demonstrated credit knowledge, and provide financing solutions to corporate clients.
• Excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

• Proven track record of originating new business. 
• Understanding of flow derivatives, FX, commodities, transaction banking, investment banking and securities processing.
• Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset.
