The NPI (New Product Introduction) Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the successful transition of new aerospace and defense products from development into full-rate production. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on engineering execution to ensure products are delivered on time, within cost and in compliance with stringent regulatory and quality standards. This leader will manage a team of engineers while actively contributing to technical problem solving, process development and cross functional execution. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and DUTIES:

  • Lead, coach and develop team of NPI Engineers 
  • Set clear priorities aligned with program milestones, customer commitment and business objectives
  • Drive accountability, performance management and continuous skill development within the team 
  • Scale team capabilities to support increasing program demand and complexity 
  • Own end to end NPI execution from design transfer through production ramp 
  • Partner with design engineering to ensure manufacturability and robust process development 
  • Develop and execute detailed NPI plans including schedule, resource allocation and risk mitigation 
  • Ensure alignment with program requirements including compliance and aero quality standards 
  • Act as a technical leader in resolving complex manufacturing and equipment related issues 
  • Drive root cause analysis and RCCA using structured methodologies 
  • Lead development and validation of manufacturing processes, tooling and test methods
  • Support FAI, qualification builds and production readiness reviews 
  • Establish and optimize scalable, repeatable manufacturing processes
  • Drive improvement in yield, cycle time and cost through lead principles
  • Ensure readiness for production ramp and sustained operations 
  • Work closely with Supply Chain, Quality, Operations and Program Management teams 
  • Interface with external suppliers to ensure readiness for production and alignment with NPI schedules
  • Communicate program status, risk and mitigation plan to senior leadership 

YOU MUST HAVE: 

  • 7+ years of leading and managing teams 
  • 10+ years in aerospace and defense manufacturing or engineering with NPI experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, RF, Manufacturing or related field)
  • Strong hands-on experience with manufacturing processes, equipment in a production environment 
  • Hands-on experience working in PLM systems such as Agile 
  • Hands on experience working in ERP systems such as SAP

The annual base salary range for this position is $166,750-$208,150. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
