Accountabilities
- Develop and lead enterprise-wide operational risk strategies that strengthen workplace safety, reduce incidents, improve EMOD performance, and lower insurance-related costs.
- Oversee Workers' Compensation, General Liability, Auto, Property, and other corporate insurance programs, including broker relationships, policy renewals, claims management, and program optimization.
- Analyze claims data, identify trends and root causes, and recommend operational improvements to mitigate organizational risk.
- Partner with field operations and business leaders to implement safety standards, training programs, and risk management initiatives across multiple subsidiaries.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state employment regulations, including ACA, FLSA, ADA, FMLA, EEOC, OSHA, EEO-1, Form 5500, state pay reporting, and other applicable labor requirements.
- Design and oversee corporate HR policies, employee handbooks, labor law postings, and compliance frameworks while supporting subsidiary implementation.
- Provide guidance on employee relations matters, workplace investigations, complex employment issues, and high-risk termination decisions.
- Support benefits administration, vendor relationships, and total rewards strategies to ensure regulatory compliance and competitive employee offerings.
- Establish governance frameworks, audit processes, and reporting standards to monitor compliance and operational performance across multiple business entities.
- Prepare executive dashboards and quarterly reports for senior leadership and the Board of Directors, highlighting key risk, compliance, and operational metrics.
- Conduct audits of wage and hour practices, employee classifications, and labor compliance to minimize legal and financial exposure.
- 10+ years of leadership experience combining operational risk management, insurance administration, and HR compliance responsibilities.
- Proven success managing operational risk within construction, telecommunications, infrastructure, or other field-based industries.
- Demonstrated track record of reducing insurance claims, improving EMOD performance, and implementing effective safety initiatives.
- Experience operating within a parent company, holding company, or multi-entity organization with responsibility for enterprise-wide governance.
- Deep expertise in employment laws and regulations, including FLSA, ADA, FMLA, ACA, EEOC, OSHA, and complex state labor compliance requirements.
- Strong knowledge of corporate insurance programs, claims management, broker negotiations, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Experience leading policy development, compliance audits, governance programs, and cross-functional operational initiatives.
- Excellent analytical, communication, project management, and stakeholder management skills.
- Executive presence with the ability to influence senior leadership and collaborate across diverse business units.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% as needed for subsidiary visits and Board meetings.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Ability to successfully complete a background check and provide professional references.
- Annual base salary ranging from $125,000 to $175,000, depending on experience.
- Target annual performance bonus of 15%–25%.
