The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
The person hired for the position of Supply Chain Analyst will be responsible for managing production planning or ordering, including setting parameters and the capacity and material planning of assigned products and production lines in order to meet required service levels while minimizing inventory.
As a Supply Chain Analyst, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Planning and Scheduling of Production Orders
- Placing Purchase Orders to support Production
- Managing exceptions (materials, capacity) and determining how best to resolve constraints to balance service, inventory, and cost in the best interest of the supply chain.
- Optimizing and maintaining production lot sizes, production cycles and safety stocks to deliver the desired balance between inventory and service. Collaborating and sharing inventory, service and cost trade-off curves with the businesses served (locally and in other regions) to ensure target service levels are set appropriately.
- Ensuring accurate requirements to upstream and downstream operations, including outside plants.
- Managing Capacity in the short, median and long term. Identifying, resolving and escalating production constraints.
- Working closely with the Supply Planners to determine how best to resolve supply constraints in 3M plants.
- Leading and Presenting optimization and improvement opportunities with Business partners.
- Leading and participating in Lean Six Sigma projects.
- Executing the Production Planning global process standards with regard to NWI.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited university
- Two (2) years of combined experience in Supply Chain, Transportation & Logistics, Customer Service and/or Marketing in a private, public, government or military environment.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Five (5) years of combined experience in Supply Chain, Transportation & Logistics, Customer Service and/or Marketing in a private, public, government or military environment.
- Experience in Production Planning
- Knowledge of Supply Planning (SP), Demand Planning (DP), and/or Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes
- Analytical skills and knowledge of analytical tools (Excel, Minitab, etc.)
- Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and self-motivational skills
- Experience working on cross-functional and international teams
- APICS (American Production and Inventory Control Society) certification
- Experience representing the supply chain organization on business teams
- Experience utilizing LSS methodologies
Work location: On-site at 3M Greenville, SC
Travel: May include up to 5% domestic
Relocation: May be authorized
