Job overview and responsibilities:
The Operations Communications team plays a vital role in keeping United’s frontline employees informed and engaged. As a Digital Content Specialist, you will support the back-of-house infrastructure that keeps content moving across every channel. The role partners closely with Operations communicators and content creators to support editorial workflows, orchestrate multi-channel distribution and ensure every message reaches the right audience at the right time. Over time, you will support process improvements and grow within a dynamic, multi-channel environment. Success in this role requires flexibility and adaptability to meet the ever-evolving needs of a 24/7 operational environment. 
Team members will be required to operate on a rotational schedule for US hours.
 

Channel distribution:

Execute end-to-end content distribution across internal newsletters, intranet pages, electronic/digital screens and push notifications. Provides support during assigned off-hour rotation to assist with U.S.-timed distributions.

Content adaptation:

Support the Operations Communications team in editorial workflow management. Receive approved communications and adapt and reformat content based on channel-specific formatting standards preserving the original tone and intent. 

Audience segmentation:

Build dynamic content within Salesforce Marketing Cloud (and equivalent platforms). Segment audience distributions to ensure communications reach the appropriate employee populations. 

Cross-team coordination:

Support the cross-Operations Communications team in coordinating tasks and deliverables. Track project status and action items within Adobe Workfront. 

Process automation and efficiency:

Research, propose and collaborate with appropriate teams to implement automation and AI solutions that reduce effort and increase consistency. 

This position is offered on local terms and conditions.  Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded. This position is for United Airlines Business Services Pvt. Ltd - a wholly owned subsidiary of United Airlines Inc.

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Communications, Marketing, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience

     

  • 2+ years of experience in digital communications, content operations or marketing operations
  • Familiarity with digital content distribution and the integration of AI into workflows and content quality
  • Basic experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud or comparable marketing automation/CRM platform
  • Familiarity with Adobe Workfront or similar work management platforms for editorial planning, project tracking and communications workflow management
  •  Ability to adapt and reformat content across channels while preserving message intent and brand voice
  • Experience working under pressure 
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and deal with complex issues
  •  Ability to make rational, realistic decisions using good reasoning and sound judgment
  •   Excellent communication skills (written & verbal) 
  • Professional demeanor with excellent and timely follow-up with employees/business partners
  • Must be self-motivated and have an enhanced ability to prioritize/plan in a fast-paced environment
  •  Strong analytical skills
  • Well organized with the strong ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Ability to comfortably interact with all levels within the organization
     

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications): 

  • Preferred 3 years of professional exposure in a Communications and/or Marketing department 
  • Experience with digital signage platforms, like Appspace and Poppulo
  •  Familiarity with intranet platforms, like Sitecore, SharePoint and Staffbase
  • Basic working knowledge of HTML/CSS for email template editing
  • Exposure working with automation workflows and AI, like Power Automate or native CRM automation
  • Exposure to HR systems, like Peoplesoft, Workday or similar
  • Familiarity with Canva or other graphic design tools
