CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
(1) Leadership:
- Provide effective leadership for Global Architectural GSC operations in achieving world-class EHS performance and our Vision of Zero
- Lead implementation of EHS standards & policies at all NA GSC sites.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and development to employees on the GSC EHS NA team.
- Provide daily leadership to 3–4 direct-report managers, supporting compliance, risk reduction, and management system performance across GSC sites, including travel for onsite engagement and support.
- Acts as a strategic business partner to GSC Vice Presidents, leading month-end performance reviews and driving performance improvement initiatives.
- Monthly Regional communication to site teams reinforcing GSC EHS vision and strategy; incident investigations, best practice sharing and positive recognition.
- Ensure that all health, safety, and environmental programs are compliant with applicable global, federal, state, and local regulatory requirements
- Support ISO, EHSMS, VPP and other 3rd party certification achievement as needed
- Execute onboarding and retention strategies for EHS leaders in the region to attract and retain top talent
- Coordinate / collaborate across GSC regions and identify synergies between groups
- Ensure effective communication across stakeholders for program implementation and metrics
(2) Strategy:
- Execute GSC Global EHS Strategy that is aligned with organizational EHS objectives, GSC business objectives, & our aspirational Vision of Zero injuries/incidents.
- Develop business unit strategies within assigned geographies, while coordinating cross-regionally with EHS leaders in LATAM, APAC, and EMEAI to ensure alignment and consistency
- Prioritizes risk across the network, ensuring mitigation measures are established, escalations to risk owners are clearly communicated, and risks are incorporated into site-level capital planning.
- Ensure established goals and objectives are completed in accordance with scope and project budgets
- Improve relevant leading and lagging EHS metrics that align with GSC leadership’s goals and objectives
- Escalation points to Global Sr. Director for critical projects to ensure timelines and goals are met
(3) Health & Safety:
- Provide NA leadership and expertise in areas related to global safety programs including, process safety, ergonomics, fleet safety, fire protection and life safety.
- Develop and implement programs to achieve reduction and control of injuries and property loss.
- Identify critical initiatives necessary to support Company-wide safety and risk control programs and processes that significantly reduce operational risk and drive key performance metrics.
- Identify critical initiatives necessary to protect employees and the public, while demonstrating leadership in effecting compliance solutions that assure organizational sustainability.
(4) Environment:
- Provide NA leadership and expertise related to environmental programs including air, water, waste, spill prevention, and compliance.
- Lead efforts to ensure all NA sites have a documented environmental compliance calendar and registrar of applicable regulations.
- Facilitate the timely exchange of environmental related information across NA GSC and within NA EHS to include best practices, newly identified risks, preventive and corrective measures, compliance related to regulation, industry and internal standards and operating permits.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety or other related field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience leading the EHS program for a global organization.
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of federal, state, and local EHS requirements, industry trends, and ability to work effectively in a globally-matrixed organization/team environment.
- 5+ years Site Level Chemical MFG Experience in EHS or Operations.
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future.
Preferred:
- Master’s Degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety or other related field.
- Certified Industrial Hygienist, Certified Safety Professional, Certified Health Physicist, or Certified Hazardous Materials.
