COMPENSATION:

As  part of the Mars Petcare family of businesses, Mars Veterinary Health is a global network of veterinary practices made possible by 75,000 Associates who care for millions of pets across nearly 3,000 clinics in more than 20 countries each year. We are committed to leveraging our reach to make a long-term positive impact on people, pets, and the planet and know our Purpose – A BETTER WORLD FOR PETS – starts with the people who care for them. We strive to offer unparalleled veterinary care for pets by first and foremost enabling and empowering our Associates to do what they love, whether in primary, specialty, and emergency care or management and leadership.

This role requires associates to work out of a MVH North America hub location – Vancouver, WA | Santa Monica, CA

Why This Role Matters:

The North America Finance Transformation Lead is a high-impact individual contributor role responsible for orchestrating and delivering a targeted portfolio of ~120 Finance 2.0 initiatives across Record-to-Report (R2R), Order-to-Cash (O2C), Procure-to-Pay (P2P), and Payroll within the region. While a global PMO provides overall governance and coordination across North America and Europe, this role is accountable for driving focused execution in North America to deliver measurable productivity outcomes.

Acting as the regional integrator, the Transformation Lead coordinates resources across retained finance teams, operating business units, Digital & Technology (D&T), and external partners to ensure disciplined execution, alignment, and value delivery. The role also provides ongoing support during the transition to the future operating model, proactively mitigating risks, ensuring business continuity, and embedding sustainable improvements across both retained and non-retained finance operations.

You Will:

Portfolio Execution & Regional Orchestration

  • Lead the end-to-end orchestration of a ~120-project Finance 2.0 portfolio across R2R, O2C, P2P, and Payroll, ensuring alignment with global priorities and regional business needs
  • Translate high-level program objectives from the global PMO into clear, executable regional plans with defined milestones, deliverables, and success criteria
  • Actively manage cross-tower dependencies, sequencing, and critical paths to ensure integrated and timely delivery across all initiatives
  • Drive execution discipline by establishing clear accountability, tracking progress at a granular level, and intervening where delivery risks emerge
  • Ensure consistency in execution approach across initiatives, promoting standardization while enabling flexibility for business unit-specific needs

Partnership with Global PMO

  • Serve as the primary North America interface to the global PMO, ensuring alignment on governance frameworks, delivery standards, tools, and reporting expectations
  • Operationalize global methodologies, templates, and cadence within the NA portfolio to drive consistency and transparency
  • Provide detailed, data-driven insights into regional execution performance, including progress against milestones, risks, issues, and dependencies
  • Actively contribute to global program discussions, representing NA priorities, constraints, and opportunities to ensure balanced decision-making
  • Ensure NA initiatives are fully integrated into the broader global program plan, avoiding duplication and managing cross-regional dependencies

Productivity Delivery & Value Realization

  • Own the identification, tracking, and realization of productivity improvements across the portfolio, ensuring each initiative delivers measurable business value
  • Define clear benefit metrics (e.g., efficiency gains, cost savings, cycle time reduction, quality improvements) and embed them into execution plans
  • Establish robust tracking mechanisms to monitor benefits realization over time, ensuring sustainability beyond initial implementation
  • Challenge and refine business cases to maximize value delivery and eliminate low-impact activities
  • Provide regular, transparent reporting on productivity outcomes to leadership, highlighting achievements, gaps, and corrective actions

Transition Support & Risk Mitigation

  • Provide hands-on leadership during key transition phases, including pre-go-live readiness, cutover, stabilization, and post-implementation support
  • Proactively identify risks across initiatives, business units, and process towers, assessing both delivery and operational impacts
  • Develop and implement mitigation strategies to address risks early, minimizing disruption to ongoing finance operations
  • Ensure strong issue management discipline, including root cause analysis, escalation, and timely resolution
  • Support business continuity by closely monitoring operational performance during transition and intervening as needed

Stakeholder & Resource Coordination

  • Act as the central integrator across retained finance teams, operating business units, MGSF, D&T, and external partners to ensure coordinated execution
  • Align stakeholders on priorities, scope, timelines, and trade-offs, balancing competing demands in a complex, matrixed environment
  • Influence without direct authority to drive decisions, remove roadblocks, and maintain momentum across initiatives
  • Ensure appropriate resource allocation and utilization across the portfolio, identifying capacity gaps and escalating where necessary
  • Foster strong cross-functional relationships to enable collaboration, accountability, and shared ownership of outcomes

Transformation Delivery Across All Towers

  • Drive transformation execution across all finance process towers (R2R, O2C, P2P, Payroll), ensuring equal focus and rigor across domains
  • Partner with process owners, tower leads, and technology teams to deliver standardized, harmonized, and optimized finance processes
  • Ensure initiatives leverage automation, digital tools, and data capabilities to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
  • Identify cross-tower improvement opportunities and ensure solutions are designed with end-to-end process integration in mind
  • Maintain a strong focus on simplifying and streamlining operations to support the future-state operating model

Change Management & Adoption

  • Support and reinforce change management strategies to drive adoption of new processes, systems, and ways of working
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to ensure readiness for change, including training, communication, and transition planning
  • Monitor adoption and performance post-implementation, addressing gaps to ensure sustained outcomes
  • Promote a mindset of continuous improvement, encouraging teams to identify and act on optimization opportunities
  • Ensure that transformation outcomes are fully embedded into business-as-usual operations and deliver long-term value

Your Experience Should Include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
  • MBA, CPA, CMA, PMP, or equivalent certification preferred
  • Formal project/program management training or certification strongly preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in finance transformation, finance operations, or large-scale program delivery in a global organization
  • Proven ability to manage complex, multi-project portfolios with high levels of interdependency
  • Deep expertise in R2R processes, with strong working knowledge of O2C, P2P, and Payroll
  • Experience working with shared services (GBS), BPO providers, and technology implementation partners
  • Demonstrated success delivering ERP or finance transformation programs (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday)
  • Strong program and portfolio management capabilities, with rigorous execution discipline
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills in a complex, matrixed environment
  • Ability to operate effectively as an individual contributor while coordinating across large, distributed teams
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen, including benefits tracking and performance measurement
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage executive stakeholders
  • High degree of adaptability, ownership, and ability to manage competing priorities at scale
