Our Product team leads the direction, coordination, output, quality, and enhancements to PowerSchool's product portfolio. This dynamic, multi-functional team ensures the effective rollout of new products across the platform, packages and positions products to appeal to consumers, and helps set the future direction and pace of innovation in our organization.
As part of this mission, we are establishing a modern Knowledge Management organization to create a unified, AI-ready, single source of truth across our 40+ products.
We are seeking a Content Strategist, Knowledge Architecture, to help define and implement the structural foundation of our product knowledge ecosystem. This role combines content strategy and hands-on knowledge architecture, ensuring that content is structured, reusable, discoverable, and optimized for both human and AI-driven experiences.
Responsibilities
Description
This role builds the foundation of PowerSchool’s knowledge ecosystem. By defining how content is structured, connected, and scaled, the Content Strategist, Knowledge Architecture, enables consistent, reusable, and AI-ready knowledge across all products.
Knowledge Architecture & Content Modeling
- Help define and maintain the product content model, including content types, fields, relationships, and reuse patterns
- Establish taxonomy and tagging frameworks to enable discoverability and targeted delivery
- Design content structures that support retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), including chunking, metadata, and semantic relationships
- Design scalable information architecture systems across products, personas, and delivery channels
- Define standards for modular, component-based content authoring and reuse
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Product, UX, Engineering, Support, and Accessibility teams to align content with product experiences and workflows
- Translate product and business requirements into structured content and architecture solutions
- Collaborate closely with Content Engineers to ensure proper implementation of content models and standards
- Act as a bridge between strategy, governance, and execution teams
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 2+ years of experience in content strategy, information architecture, knowledge management, or related field
- Experience working in a SaaS or product-driven environment
- Proven ability to design and scale content across complex product ecosystems
- Travel occasionally, up to 10%, for key moments such as team summits, training, customer meetings, company events, etc., with increased frequency during peak periods based on business demands
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with structured or component-based content systems (e.g., CCMS, knowledge bases)
- Familiarity with taxonomy, metadata, and content modeling framework
- Experience supporting content used in AI-driven or search-based experiences
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive content practice

A reasonable estimate of the base compensation range for this position is $85,400 - $106,800 USD. This compensation range is specific to the United States and it incorporates many factors including but not limited to an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience and training; licensures, degrees, and certifications; internal equity; internal pay ranges; and market data/range parameters.
