About the Role
The Networking Solutions Group (NSG) within Intel's Central Engineering Group is at the forefront of designing and validating the next generation of high-speed network connectivity products. Our team develops and validates boards that interconnect data centers, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise networking worldwide. We take pride in shipping products that define industry standards.
We are a team of engineers & technicians who are passionate about pushing the boundaries of what's possible in PCIe-based Network Interface Card (fNIC and IPU) technology and we're looking for a sharp, driven Hardware Electrical Validation Engineer to join us.
As a Hardware Electrical Validation Engineer, you will own the electrical validation complex PCIe-based Network Interface/IPU Cards. This is a high-impact, highly technical role where your work directly influences product quality, schedule, and customer satisfaction.
What You’ll Do
Key responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Develop and execute electrical validation plans for complex SoCs integrated into PCIe-based Network Interface Cards (NICs).
- Define electrical validation methodologies, test coverage, and success criteria for networking hardware.
- Perform signal integrity, power integrity, and electrical compliance testing on high-speed interfaces using automation software.
- Identify, debug, and resolve issues across hardware, firmware and system interactions.
- Conduct board-level electrical validation and characterization using laboratory instrumentation including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies, thermal chambers, and Bit Error Rate Test (BERT) equipment.
- Analyze validation results and provide results in a report format.
- Develop automation and data analysis tools using Python or related scripting languages.
- Collaborate closely with architecture, design, firmware, software, manufacturing, and validation teams throughout the product lifecycle.
- Support hardware bring-up, system margin testing, environmental stress testing, and compliance qualification activities.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with 4+ years of experience in electrical/hardware validation.
Your experience described above must be in the following:
- Electrical signal integrity testing and analysis
- Experience with validation infrastructure and tools for IO and mixed-signal architectures
- Industry-standard datacom applications and compliance requirements
- Debug electrical designs and resolve electrical validation issues
- Experience using Digital Oscilloscopes, lab power supplies, digital multi-meters, thermal chambers, and debug
- Experience with all Microsoft tools
- EV test plan development and results analysis
- Environmental stress environments/control
- Board circuit schematics, layout and placement
- Power supply sequencing/regulation, clock specs , board power
- Experience with scripting languages like Python
- PC, PCIE experience, NIC system architecture knowledge
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Knowledge of digital systems on PCBs with assorted highspeed interfaces and OPTICs
- Experience collaborating across multidisciplinary teams in architecture, design, and validation.
- Familiarity with advanced electrical validation procedures and system margin testing.
- Fiber Optics BER and Switches, SFP and QSFP components and specs
- Experience with Bit Error Testers, ESD Scanner, and automated testing.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US: $105,650.00-200,340.00 USD
