Accountabilities:

    The Staff Data Platform Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and leading the evolution of scalable data infrastructure and backend systems. This role requires strong technical ownership, architectural vision, and collaboration across engineering teams to deliver reliable and efficient solutions.

    • Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of complex distributed systems that support large-scale data processing and platform capabilities.
    • Design, develop, and maintain scalable, fault-tolerant microservices for both real-time and batch data workflows.
    • Build and optimize high-performance REST APIs with a focus on reliability, scalability, maintainability, and operational excellence.
    • Create and manage efficient data models, queries, and storage solutions across SQL and NoSQL database environments.
    • Drive data quality initiatives to improve accuracy, consistency, and trust across platform data assets.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business and technical requirements into effective engineering solutions.
    • Establish engineering standards around code quality, testing, observability, deployment practices, and system reliability.
    • Mentor engineers through technical guidance, code reviews, architecture discussions, and knowledge sharing.
    • Own the complete software development lifecycle, including development, deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident response.
    • Leverage AI-powered tools and modern engineering practices to improve productivity and optimize platform development workflows.
    • Requirements:

      The ideal candidate is a highly experienced data and backend engineer with a strong background in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and technical leadership. You should be comfortable driving complex initiatives, solving ambiguous problems, and collaborating across teams.

      • 10+ years of professional experience focused on backend engineering, data engineering, or related technical disciplines.
      • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
      • Proven experience designing and operating distributed systems using microservices architectures with strong knowledge of scalability, fault tolerance, performance optimization, and observability.
      • Strong programming experience with modern backend technologies such as TypeScript and Node.js.
      • Hands-on experience designing data platforms, APIs, and services that operate reliably at scale.
      • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and modern software delivery practices.
      • Experience working with public cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
      • Familiarity with AWS serverless technologies, infrastructure-as-code tools, NoSQL databases, and stream processing technologies.
      • Strong leadership, communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
      • Ability to work independently, take ownership of complex projects, and deliver results in a fast-changing environment.
      • Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to a collaborative, high-performing technical culture.
