Overview

As a Senior Product Designer – Benefits Servicing, you will help shape the end-to-end medical benefits experience across Humana’s digital ecosystem, enabling members to understand, access, and maximize their healthcare coverage with confidence. Through exceptional design execution, user-centered thinking, and cross-functional collaboration, you will create intuitive experiences that simplify complex benefits information, support informed healthcare decisions, and improve members’ ability to navigate care.

In this role, you will partner closely with product managers, engineers, researchers, and business stakeholders to design solutions that drive meaningful outcomes for members and the business. Your work will contribute to improving member satisfaction, healthcare engagement, operational efficiency, and overall experience quality across the medical benefits journey.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver end-to-end user experiences for Humana’s medical benefits products and services, ensuring solutions are human-centered and aligned with business objectives.

  • Collaborate with product, engineering, marketing, analytics, and research partners to identify opportunities and develop innovative solutions that address key member needs.

  • Utilize user research, usability testing, analytics, and member feedback to inform design decisions and continually improve experiences.

  • Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that effectively communicate and validate design concepts.

  • Advocate for accessibility, inclusivity, and design best practices across all medical benefits experiences.

  • Partner with other Product and Design teams to ensure consistency and cohesion throughout the member journey.

  • Present design recommendations and rationale to stakeholders, incorporating feedback and building alignment across teams.

  • Contribute to a culture of collaboration, experimentation, learning, and continuous improvement within the design organization.

  • Support and contribute to design systems, pattern libraries, and scalable design standards.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in product design, with a portfolio demonstrating impactful digital product outcomes.

  • Experience designing complex user experiences and end-to-end customer journeys, preferably within healthcare, insurance, or similarly regulated industries.

  • Strong expertise in user-centered design, interaction design, information architecture, and visual design.

  • Proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools, including Figma.

  • Solid understanding of user research methodologies and the ability to translate insights into effective design solutions.

  • Experience collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams including product management, engineering, research, and business stakeholders.

  • Strong communication, presentation, storytelling, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on design execution.

  • Demonstrated success using design to improve business and customer outcomes, such as member satisfaction, engagement, retention, or operational efficiency.

Preferred

  • Experience designing healthcare, medical benefits, insurance, or other regulated-industry products and services.

  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design principles, particularly for older adults and diverse populations.

  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience contributing to or maintaining design systems, pattern libraries, and scalable UX standards.

  • Experience facilitating design workshops, stakeholder alignment sessions, or collaborative design activities.

  • Familiarity with data-informed design practices and experimentation methodologies.

Work at Home Requirements
To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria:

At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested. In certain roles, the minimum recommended internet speed required by Humana may not be sufficient for business needs. Humana reserves the right to require associates to upgrade their internet service if necessary.

Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$86,300 - $118,700 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
