We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Systems Engineer – Operations and Maintenance supporting one of our premier programs within the Space Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (SISR) business unit. As part of the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) organization, your experience with operations, troubleshooting, and direct interaction with multiple contractors and government personnel will be critical to success.
What You Will Do
Manage baseline software installations and deployments into operational environments
Collaborate with System Administrators to maintain Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) development and test environments
Monitor, track, and report system availability, performance metrics, and operational workloads
Troubleshoot operational issues, resolve system anomalies, and support system recovery efforts
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to plan, execute, and resolve systems engineering, integration, and operational activities
Represent the program in technical exchange meetings and customer briefings and provide backup support to technical leadership as needed
Support a 24/7 operational environment through occasional on-call responsibilities, with infrequent travel (1–2 times per year) as required
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum 8+ years of relevant prior experience
Experience in systems engineering, particularly within operations and maintenance environments
Experience troubleshooting complex systems and supporting operational recovery efforts
Experience supporting program operations utilizing mission system software
Experience with software patching and full software deployment activities
Active and transferable U.S. government-issued TS/SCI security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience supporting Mission Operations and Maintenance activities
Experience with satellite ground system development or operations
Experience in mission management, command and control systems, or space-based ISR platforms
Experience working in Linux environments (especially Red Hat), with programming languages such as Java, C++, or Python, and cloud-based infrastructure
Experience with Oracle or similar database technologies
Experience developing solutions that meet system performance, availability, and reliability requirements
Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across multi-disciplined teams, including government customers, program leadership, technical leads, chief engineers, system architects, and other cross-functional stakeholders

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
