Accountabilities:
- Define enterprise architecture standards, system design principles, and engineering guidelines that support long-term technology goals.
- Architect and implement highly scalable, distributed, and fault-tolerant systems designed for global availability.
- Lead modernization initiatives, including microservices transformations, platform improvements, and legacy system decommissioning.
- Establish API governance, data architecture strategies, and service communication patterns across engineering teams.
- Design systems focused on scalability, security, resilience, disaster recovery, and operational reliability.
- Evaluate and optimize data storage solutions based on workload requirements, performance needs, and scalability objectives.
- Drive reliability engineering practices, incident response improvements, and operational excellence initiatives.
- Conduct architecture reviews, performance assessments, and technical evaluations across multiple platforms.
- Guide engineering teams on scalability, concurrency, observability, optimization, and system design best practices.
- Define enterprise observability frameworks covering metrics, logging, tracing, and monitoring standards.
- Establish DevOps, CI/CD, and automation strategies to improve engineering efficiency and delivery quality.
- Partner with executive leadership and product teams to influence technology roadmaps and strategic decisions.
- Mentor Staff and Senior Engineers while contributing to engineering culture, technical growth, and best practices.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend strategic adoption opportunities.
- Provide technical leadership during complex production incidents requiring deep architectural expertise.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Proven experience designing and operating distributed, high-scale systems in production environments.
- Advanced proficiency in backend programming languages such as Java, Go, C++, or similar technologies.
- Deep understanding of system architecture, data modeling, performance optimization, and scalability principles.
- Strong expertise in reliability engineering, distributed architectures, and resilient system design.
- Experience leading cross-team technical initiatives across multiple business units.
- Demonstrated ability to make architectural decisions at enterprise scale.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
- Experience mentoring senior engineers and helping shape engineering practices.
- Ability to work effectively with executive stakeholders, product teams, and engineering organizations.
- Experience with multi-year technology transformation programs is preferred.
- Public technical contributions such as engineering talks, publications, or open-source leadership are a plus.
- Familiarity with FinOps, large-scale cost optimization, or regulated industries such as financial services, healthcare, or government is preferred.
- Competitive annual salary range of $100,000–$150,000 USD, based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
