SOUNDBOKS is an innovative tech company and aspiring lifestyle brand. You may have seen us at a music festival, street party, or your friend’s celebration (think: private events combining festival-grade sound with beat-enhancing lights) where special moments are turned into memories. We create the loudest, most durable, and arguably coolest Bluetooth speakers and audio reactive lights on the market.
At SOUNDBOKS, trust and community go hand in hand. People are encouraged to take ownership of their work while knowing they have the support of the team behind them. Voices are heard, ideas are welcomed, and collaboration is what pushes us forward.
This is more than a job - it’s a community where people care about each other, celebrate together, and share the energy of creating something meaningful. Life at SOUNDBOKS is bold, fast, and full of passion - for the product, for the mission, and for showing up as your true self. With 70 team members, this is a place where you can do your best work and truly belong.
ROLE ACOUSTIC ENGINEER
TEAM PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
HOURS FULL TIME
LOCATION COPENHAGEN, DENMARK
START DATE OCTOBER 2026 or ASAP
The Product Development team at SOUNDBOKS is the group responsible for the exciting product journey, taking every step of the development process toward and into mass production. In it’s heartbeat you’ll find collaborative and self-driven team members with a large cross-discipline understanding tied to ownership. They are there to make a difference - for the products, the team and the SOUNDBOKS customers as a whole.
Every SOUNDBOKS starts with a great idea - but turning it into a speaker that can survive a festival, run for hours, and sound incredible takes a lot of engineering. As the Acoustic Engineer, you'll be taking charge of the acoustic development that helps bring those products to life.
Okay, let’s make things a little more concrete. Here’s what we expect your daily life to look like:
Concept & Prototype Development
You'll select and design acoustic components based on product and market requirements.
You'll define initial enclosure concepts.
You'll build and evaluate proof-of-concept prototypes to validate acoustic concepts.
You'll collaborate with Mechanical Engineering during the early product development phase to mature acoustic concepts.
Simulation & Validation
You'll perform acoustic simulations with a focus on sound pressure level (SPL), sound quality, and system efficiency.
You'll validate simulation results through physical testing.
You'll collaborate with suppliers to refine acoustic components based on simulation and test results.
Driver Specification & Verification
You'll own the technical specification of loudspeaker drivers towards suppliers.
You'll define driver specifications and tolerances.
You'll support manufacturing verification with suppliers.
You'll participate in the acoustic verification of the final product towards mass production.
You'll collaborate with the Audio team on audio signal handling, including crossovers, compressors, and limiters.
In order to become a success in this role, we believe that your profile should be aligned with the bullets listed below. However, we acknowledge that success can take many forms, so please do apply even if you don’t tick all the boxes.
You have proven experience designing and simulating loudspeakers, including transducer design and specification, enclosure design, and acoustic measurements.
You hold a BSc or higher in Audio, Acoustics, Mechanical, or a related engineering discipline.
You've done loudspeaker simulation and measurements, and use both to validate and refine your designs.
You've worked with loudspeaker development from concept through verification and ideally have experience collaborating with external manufacturing partners.
Familiarity with crossover design, FEM simulations, or failure analysis is an advantage.
Ideally you also have experience building physical speaker mock-ups or collaborating with large-scale loudspeaker manufacturing partners.
You work independently, take ownership of your area, and enjoy collaborating closely with engineers across disciplines.
You're curious, creative, and constantly looking for ways to improve acoustic performance.
You're drawn to what SOUNDBOKS is building and are excited to be a part of the journey!
Intrigued? At SOUNDBOKS you’ll find yourself a part of a community. We realize that growth is a process and we don’t expect you to go through it alone. Actually, we guarantee that you won’t have to. We work together in order to work smarter, we inspire each other to be better, and we never forget that every member of the team is responsible for our success.
So, if you’re tired of all of the noise in the job market, we’d love to hear from you. This may be the coolest job you ever have!
*Please note that due to summer holidays, we'll start reviewing applications in Week 33. We'll get back to candidates once we've had a chance to review their applications.
