Supervisory Life Scientist/Physical Scientist/Environmental Engineer

This position is in Region 6, Lab Services & Applied Science Division, Laboratory Support & External Oversight Branch. About Region 6 This is an office-centered position--you must physically report to one of the duty stations stated in this announcement on a regular basis (location TBD after candidate selected). You will: Plan, organize, and direct the activities of the organizational unit, ensuring that they comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs. Exercise supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Represent the Agency with a variety of functional area organizations. Serve as a technical advisor and assistant to the Second-Level Supervisor on issues pertaining to laboratory analytical support and oversight for regional programs within the following major functional areas: administration, coordination, review, validation and oversight of Superfund's Contract Laboratory Program, and planning, assessment, auditing and certification of the region's state drinking water laboratories. One or more positions may be filled (in the organization advertised and/or in other organizations), if appropriate to the position.
