KC-46 Engineering and Certification Integration Manager

The Boeing CompanyBoeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Mobility, Surveillance & Bombers (MS&B) is seeking a KC-46 Engineering and Certification Integration Manager (Level K) within the KC-46 Safety, Certification, and Performance organization in Everett, WA. This is a high-visibility and developmental role with leadership and technical assignments that directly support KC-46 certification and engineering integration across production and deliveries, development programs, and other chief engineer directed assignments.
This position requires a leader who takes ownership and demonstrates the ability to negotiate, build consensus, establish operating rhythms, remove roadblocks, and work across teams to deliver results. The candidate should have knowledge of certification processes and strong leadership skills to lead resolution of technical issues. We are looking for a quick learner who can rapidly understand complex technical concepts across multiple engineering disciplines and organizations and a problem solver who can analyze and organize complex technical problems into actionable execution plans.
Position Responsibilities:
- Leads applicant integration across impacted business units and Type Certifications for the KC-46.
- Manages, develops, and motivates a diverse team of Program Integration Managers (PIMs), military certification engineers, and/or certification plan owners.
- Provides technical, business, and integration leadership for the KC-46 Program on certification and engineering issues requiring cross functional and cross-organization leadership, both internal and external to Boeing.
- Responsible for developing integrated plans, establishing and leading teams, monitoring and responding to technical developments, risk management, stabilizing/standardizing processes, and managing all aspects of projects to closure.
- Collaborates with KC-46 IPTs, SAW, and ODA counterparts to improve certification process stability and increase applicant certification knowledge.
- May regularly interface with FAA and USAF counterparts to ensure continuity across stakeholders.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
- Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.”
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience working across multiple engineering disciplines.
- 3+ years of experience providing technical leadership for an engineering team.
- 3+ years of experience with FAA and/or Military Certification processes.
- Experience as a self-starter with strong written and oral communication skills, and a focus on translating technically complex issues into simple, easy to understand concepts.
- Active security clearance.
- Experience with Military or Commercial aircraft design and/or analysis experience within Airframe, Flight Sciences, Interiors, Propulsion, or Systems.
- Experience working across multiple business units and/or complex organizations.
- Experience with leading major design changes through multiple phases of product lifecycle.
- Experience communicating with senior leadership and program customers.
- Experience working with FAA Order 8110.101A and MIL-HDBK-516.
- Experience with certification processes and working directly with regulatory authorities.
- Ability to work out of comfort zone, where process definition does not exist or is unclear.
- Ability to take ownership / initiative, pull teams together, establish operating rhythm, remove roadblocks.

Summary pay range: $151,300 - $204,700
