Commercial Strategy & Performance Manager

The Commercial Strategy & Performance Manager is responsible for commercial performance, pricing strategy, and performance planning for the Motors business in the Netherlands and Belgium.

This role acts as a strategic business partner to the Director of Motors, combining strong commercial judgment, pricing expertise, financial planning, and performance management capabilities. The role is responsible for supporting sustainable revenue growth through pricing, commercial insights, investment prioritisation, and strong cross-functional execution.

Key Accountabilities

Commercial performance analysis and planning & Financial Leadership
  • Lead commercial planning, forecasting and performance reporting processes in partnership with Finance.
  • Provide commercial and financial insights to support decision making discipline and ROI-focused investment decisions.
  • Identify commercial risks and opportunities through performance analysis and recommend actions to improve business performance.
  • Partner closely with Finance to ensure transparency and governance.

Commercial Strategy & Pricing
  • Own pricing strategy, methodology and execution.
  • Develop and maintain pricing frameworks, governance and experimentation methodologies.
  • Identify and implement pricing improvements to drive revenue and margin growth.
  • Assess the commercial value of product, engineering, sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Guide go-to-market and commercial investment prioritisation.
  • Lead commercial input into business cases and growth initiatives.
  • Lead commercial performance analysis and scenario modelling to support strategic decision-making.
  • Drive monetisation and revenue optimisation initiatives through data-driven recommendations.

Business Partnering & Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Act as trusted commercial advisor to the Director / Head of Motors.
  • Build strong relationships across Product, Sales, Marketing, Finance and Analytics.
  • Translate business strategy into commercial priorities, performance targets and investment recommendations.

Team Leadership & Capability
  • Lead and develop the Pricing Analyst
  • Work closely with the Senior Analytics Manager
  • Help build a high-performance, accountable and empowered team culture.
  • Drive clarity of purpose, performance conversations and capability building.

Strategic & Corporate Initiatives
  • Support M&A activity, due diligence and integration from a commercial perspective.
  • Identify business improvement opportunities based on analytics and market trends.

Key Success Measures
  • Overall revenue growth (absolute and vs target).
  • Effective contribution margin (absolute and vs target).
  • C2C revenue performance.
  • Quality and accuracy of forecasting and financial planning.
  • Delivery of pricing and commercial initiatives on time and to impact.

Critical Competencies
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive cross-functional alignment.
  • Commercial acumen with rigorous financial discipline.
  • Deep understanding of pricing principles and revenue optimisation.
  • Strategic agility with pragmatic execution.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing capability.
  • High sense of urgency and ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Structured and highly organised programme execution.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a multi-stakeholder environment.

Experience & Qualifications
  • 10+ years in commercial finance, pricing, strategy or performance management roles within highly commercial environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in pricing strategy and revenue growth initiatives.
  • Proven budgeting, forecasting and financial performance management experience.
  • Strong analytical capability and business case development experience.
  • Experience in senior business partnering roles.
  • CA or tertiary qualification in commerce/finance (or equivalent experience).
