THE POSITION

Libra Software is looking to hire a Business Development Senior Associate to join our growing merger & acquisitions deal sourcing team. This individual will drive the identification, qualification, and development of a high-quality pipeline of acquisition opportunities, playing a pivotal role in expanding Libra Software Group’s footprint. In this highly visible, client-facing role, you will build trusted relationships with CEOs, founders, Investment Banks, M&A Advisors, and Private Equity & Venture Capital funds across the software industry.
This role offers a unique opportunity to develop deep expertise in software investing, capital allocation, and M&A strategy within the Constellation Software ecosystem—one of the most active acquirers of software businesses globally. Along the way, you will gain direct exposure to senior leaders, investment decision-making processes, and the full acquisition lifecycle—creating a strong foundation for long-term growth within Libra and the broader Constellation network.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop and execute targeted outbound sourcing strategies to identify vertical market software acquisition opportunities.
• Build and nurture long-term relationships with founders and key stakeholders, progressing prospects through the acquisition pipeline.
• Maintain and expand our proprietary CRM database with disciplined follow-up.
• Conduct market and sub-vertical research to uncover new investment themes aligned with Libra’s acquisition criteria.
• Lead multi-channel prospecting campaigns (LinkedIn, email, phone, conferences, trade shows, and in-person meetings).
• Collaborate with internal investment and operating leaders to evaluate and advance qualified opportunities.
• Travel to in person meetings at tradeshows and conferences alongside our senior M&A and leadership team.
QUALIFICATIONS
• 2+ years of experience in M&A/VC/PE business development (including deal sourcing, cold-calling, pitching) or enterprise level sales roles. Experience within the software sector will be viewed favorably.
• Demonstrated history of meeting or exceeding performance targets in a quota-driven environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, and capable of establishing and building rapport remotely
• Experience using CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) for pipeline management and reporting.
• Strong research, analytical, organizational, and strategic thinking skills.
• Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working autonomously in a dynamic environment.
• Willingness to travel periodically to meet companies and attend industry events.
• Advanced Salesforce reporting and Excel skills (nice-to-have).
• The role is based in Toronto and operates on a hybrid schedule.
