Accountabilities:
- Manage international import and export operations across ocean, air, and surface transportation channels.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including transportation, supply planning, demand planning, and warehousing teams, as well as external logistics partners.
- Monitor shipment activity, resolve issues, and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely delivery.
- Build and maintain relationships with logistics vendors, including ocean carriers, drayage providers, and third-party logistics partners.
- Conduct vendor performance reviews using established metrics and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with international logistics and transportation vendor sourcing activities, including RFP processes.
- Partner with global transportation teams to support container forecasting, carrier selection, and allocation management.
- Manage claims related to international shipping damages and support resolution processes.
- Act as an internal subject matter expert on import/export processes, regulations, and industry developments.
- Analyze routing options, port costs, and operational challenges to identify solutions that reduce delays and optimize costs.
- Lead projects focused on improving logistics processes, operational efficiency, and end-to-end execution.
- Develop and implement procedures that improve the effectiveness and reliability of logistics operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in international logistics, including work with port terminals, drayage carriers, and ocean shipping lines.
- Strong knowledge of import/export processes, transportation operations, and global logistics practices.
- Experience managing relationships with vendors, carriers, and external service providers.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders, facilitate collaboration, and implement operational improvements.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to independently analyze situations and develop effective solutions.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of supply chain costs, risk mitigation, and process optimization.
- Ability to work standard business hours while operating remotely from a home office.
- Salary range of approximately $75,000–$85,000 annually, depending on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
