Accountabilities:
- Define the vision, strategy, and long-term direction for national major gifts and philanthropic development initiatives.
- Drive revenue growth by establishing fundraising objectives, performance metrics, and accountability frameworks.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a specialized major gifts team to achieve strong performance and continuous improvement.
- Build and manage a portfolio of high-capacity donors and prospects, securing transformational and multi-year philanthropic investments.
- Develop scalable fundraising processes, donor engagement strategies, and best practices to strengthen the major gifts pipeline.
- Establish trusted relationships with donors, volunteers, senior leaders, and external partners.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align donor interests with organizational priorities, funding needs, and mission objectives.
- Represent the organization externally through donor meetings, fundraising activities, and relationship-building initiatives across Canada.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in fundraising, philanthropy, major gifts, or business development within a mission-driven organization.
- Proven success securing major and transformational donations from high-capacity donors.
- Experience leading fundraising teams, managing performance, and developing talent.
- Demonstrated ability to create and scale fundraising programs, donor pipelines, and revenue-generating initiatives.
- Strong expertise in major gift fundraising principles, donor stewardship, and strategic relationship management.
- Excellent communication, presentation, storytelling, and influencing skills.
- Ability to balance long-term strategic vision with hands-on execution.
- Experience using CRM systems, fundraising analytics, and donor pipeline reporting tools.
- Strong collaboration skills with executives, volunteers, donors, and cross-functional teams.
- Strategic, innovative, and results-oriented mindset with a strong focus on donor experience.
- Comfortable working in complex, evolving environments requiring adaptability and initiative.
- Fluency in both French and English to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across Canada.
- CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive) certification or equivalent fundraising credential is considered an asset.
- Experience with capital campaigns, planned giving, or major philanthropic initiatives is preferred.
- Competitive annual salary range of $101,500 – $125,000.
