Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Diagnostic Imaging Special Procedures Technologist, you will be a central figure in our advanced imaging team, expertly performing complex diagnostic and interventional procedures using various imaging modalities to obtain critical diagnostic information. You will play a vital role in patient care, ensuring technical precision, radiation safety, and patient comfort.Every day you will meticulously prepare procedure rooms, operate advanced imaging equipment (e.g., fluoroscopy, angiography), administer contrast safely, and assist physicians during intricate interventions. You will also provide essential patient education, monitor conditions closely, maintain meticulous records, and perform daily quality assurance, strictly adhering to safety and regulatory guidelines.To be successful in this role, you will combine ARRT certification, specialized advanced certification (e.g., CV, VI, or CT), and a profound understanding of cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, and procedural imaging. You will demonstrate exceptional critical thinking and meticulous attention to detail, thriving in a dynamic, high-pressure environment dedicated to delivering high-quality, precise special procedures imaging.

  • Demonstrates competency in patient care while performing a broad range of imaging procedures, maintaining a repeat rate of 4 - 5%.
  • Introduces self and verifies patient identification by checking the patient's wrist band.
  • Establishes or verifies patient symptoms and conditions through interview or review of medical record, recording information on the exam form while also communicating all pertinent information to the radiologist.
  • Maintains and preserves patient privacy, dignity and comfort by using table pads, patient gowns, blankets and sheets to cover the patient during procedures.
  • Demonstrates mastery of use of radiographic equipment and accessories, including CT scanner, MRI scanner, angiography equipment, bone densitometry or mammography equipment.
  • Assesses film quality for position, artifacts, density and contrast prior to patient leaving department

Job Requirements

Required

  • Three years experience in an Imaging Department
  • One year experience in CT 
  • one year experience in MRI 
  • California Medical Radiographer
  • California Fluoroscopy Radiology Tech
  • Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT
  • Basic Life Support - CPR
