The Ford Purchasing team adds critical value to the entire organization. You’ll help us source the highest quality parts and services from around the globe while ensuring optimal cost and on-time delivery. You’ll also contribute to establishing a robust supply chain so that we can continually produce the vehicles our customers want. We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic HV Wiring Buyer to join our dynamic team in the automotive industry.
Electrification is reshaping the automotive industry, and the components inside every vehicle — from the wiring to the connectors — need to keep pace. As our Senior Buyer for High Voltage (HV) Wiring, you'll be at the center of that transformation, building the supplier partnerships and procurement strategies that bring next-generation vehicle technology to life. You'll ensure the highest-quality components reach our production lines on time and at the right cost, directly shaping the reliability, innovation, and value our customers experience behind the wheel.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement strategic procurement plans for High Voltage (HV) Wiring in line with organizational goals and industry trends.
• Cultivate and manage strong supplier relationships, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of HV Wiring.
• Negotiate and finalize supplier agreements, focusing on favorable pricing, terms, and conditions while maintaining quality standards.
• Maintain and update a comprehensive pricing catalog, ensuring consistency with agreed-upon prices and terms.
• Analyze market trends, supplier performance, and industry dynamics to inform decision- making and improve procurement strategies.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, quality assurance, and manufacturing teams to align HV Wiring procurement with project timelines and specifications.
• Manage cost ownership by tracking, analyzing, and optimizing total cost of ownership throughout the supply chain.
• Conduct regular supplier evaluations to assess performance, identify areas for improvement, and drive continuous supplier development.
• Stay abreast of technological advancements and market changes in the HV Wiring landscape to drive innovation and efficiency.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
You'll have...
• Education: Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; master's degree
preferer.
Experience: 5+ years of experience in purchasing experience in the automotive industry, ideally with exposure to high voltage wiring or electrical components.
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective supplier relationships.
• Advanced negotiation and strategic sourcing experience
• Analytical mindset with proficiency in data-driven decision-making and cost analysis.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and industry quality/regulatory standards.
• Familiarity with industry-specific regulations, standards, and quality requirements.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficient in using procurement and supply chain management tools and software.
• Strong English communication skills (written and spoken); additional Spanish proficiency is a plus given the Mexico-based team.
