Description:

Lead Central Service Technician

Make an impact by leading critical sterile processing operations that support safe, high-quality patient care. The Lead Central Service Technician provides day-to-day leadership within the Central Sterile Processing Department (CSPD), coordinating workflow, supporting team members, and ensuring the effective sterilization, preparation, and distribution of surgical instruments and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily CSPD operations and coordinate work assignments to support surgical schedules and department priorities.
• Monitor instrument availability, identify missing or damaged instrumentation, and recommend replacements.
• Ensure appropriate staffing and workload distribution to meet operational needs.
• Coordinate surgical case cart preparation and supply management to support procedural readiness.
• Monitor sterilization processes, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with regulatory and departmental standards.
• Provide guidance, training, and support to team members while promoting excellent customer service.
• Assist leadership with staff development, performance feedback, competencies, process improvement initiatives, and Lean/JIS activities.
• Participate in inventory management, budget planning, value analysis, and cost-containment efforts.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of a Certified Sterile Processing Technician program or equivalent experience preferred.
• Current Certified Sterile Processing Technician (CSPT/CBSPD) certification required, or ability to obtain certification within six (6) months of hire.
• Minimum of five (5) years of sterile processing experience or two (2) years of experience as a Certified Sterile Processing Technician.
• Strong leadership, communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer, data entry, and clerical skills required.
