Solutions Specialist

We’re looking for a Solutions Specialist to join the Green Data Products Solutions team, to help design, implement and maintain custom solutions for our customers. You are a customer-focused domain expert in weather and energy forecasting, adept at building strong relationships to act as a trusted advisor to our customers. In this role you will identify and respond to opportunities to take our GDP products “the extra mile” to meet complex problems for our customers as they accelerate the Energy Transition. 

 

Primary tasks:

  • Collaborates with the sales team, supporting as technical advisor to potential customers who have needs that require custom solutions.

  • Builds relationships with customers and works with them to understand their needs, designing, costing, and pitching solutions that meet those needs.

  • Acts as project manager for solutions design and implementation, working with a team of solutions specialists, data scientists, and software engineers as required to design, build, and deploy solutions to customers, within budget.

  • Provides technical support and guidance to customers, ensuring they derive maximum value from their solutions.

  • Troubleshoots and resolves solutions technical issues, ensuring functionality and performance, and escalating to product team where necessary.

  • Develops and maintains technical documentation for solutions, ensuring clarity and usability, and assists with the development of best practices for solutions processes

  • Stays updated on product features and industry trends, providing customers with the latest insights and solutions.

  • Monitors, tests and validates solutions to ensure they meet performance and reliability standards.

Qualifications: 
 

  • Bachelor’s degree minimum, in Meteorology, Physics, Engineering, or another related field. 

  • 3+ years of domain knowledge in weather and energy forecasting (solar required, wind desirable).
  • 2+ years in a customer-facing technical role.
  • 2+ years of scientific computing experience, confident Python programmer (or similar).

  • You proactively monitor solutions after implementation to ensure reliability, performance, and customer value, and you suggest, design, and implement improvements.

  • You adapt to changing project requirements and maintain flexibility in your approach.

  • You take initiative in troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges.

  • You demonstrate a willingness to learn and continuously improve your technical and communication skills.

  • You manage tasks efficiently, delivering solutions on time and within budget.
