Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our DI Transport Orderly , you will help patients travel safely and efficiently so they can receive their medical care and have a comfortable experience.

 

Every day you will transport patients within the Hospital and assist with various departmental tasks. You will be expected to safely move patients ensuring their privacy and comfort, communicate effectively with medical staff, assist with imaging procedures, and support the overall operations of the department.

 

To be successful in this role, you will be physically capable of walking, standing, stooping, and safely lifting, and possess strong communication skills and basic computer proficiency. You must also acquire an American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification within 90 days of hire and have at least six months of customer service experience.

  • Transports patients safely and efficiently from place to place within the Hospital.
  • Introduces self and verifies patient identification by checking the patient's wrist band. using National Patient Safety Standards.
  • Maintains and preserves patient privacy, dignity and comfort by using table pads, patient gowns, blankets and sheets to cover the patient during procedures and during transport.
  • Communicates with patient's nurse or documents on the floor when and where the patient is going.
  • Provides appropriate mode of transportation, i.e., gurney, wheelchair, mobilizers, etc., for safe and comfortable travel for the patient
  • Checks all IV's before transporting and gets appropriate help if there is a problem and obtains portable O2 tanks when necessary.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Six (6) months customer service experience
  • American Heart Association BLS within 90 Days
