Accountabilities:

    As a Software Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, and delivery of advanced software systems supporting simulation, analytics, and data-driven mission solutions. You will collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to transform complex requirements into reliable, scalable applications.

    • Research, design, develop, modify, test, and implement software solutions supporting population simulation and advanced data modeling initiatives.
    • Collaborate with customers and end users to understand requirements, define technical solutions, and establish achievable project timelines.
    • Participate in Agile development teams to design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain backend software solutions.
    • Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and testable code primarily using Java and Python.
    • Contribute to software architecture decisions, development standards, and technical design improvements.
    • Develop and maintain software components while supporting continuous integration and DevOps practices.
    • Prepare software releases and provide technical support for application and infrastructure-related challenges.
    • Recommend process improvements and automation opportunities to improve application performance and operational efficiency.
    • Work with databases, data processing systems, and cloud technologies to support scalable software solutions.
    • Participate in technical discussions, demonstrations, and customer engagements to communicate capabilities and gather feedback.
    • Requirements:

      The ideal candidate is a mid-to-senior level software engineer with experience building production-grade applications and a passion for innovative technology. You should have strong programming skills, experience with modern development practices, and the ability to collaborate with technical and customer-facing teams.

      • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software engineering or a related development role.
      • Strong experience designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production software systems.
      • Proficiency in Java and Python programming languages.
      • Experience defining software architecture requirements and establishing development standards.
      • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle processes, DevOps practices, and continuous integration.
      • Experience with source control, project management, and CI/CD tools such as GitLab, JIRA, Confluence, Jenkins, or similar platforms.
      • Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases, including query optimization.
      • Ability to analyze technical challenges, solve complex problems, and communicate solutions effectively.
      • Experience gathering customer requirements and translating operational needs into technical solutions.
      • Active TS/SCI clearance or eligibility to obtain the required clearance.
      • Must be a U.S. citizen residing in the contiguous United States.
      • Preferred qualifications:

        • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
        • Experience with population simulation, synthetic data generation, or modeling and simulation environments.
        • Background in geospatial engineering or location intelligence technologies.
        • Experience supporting government research and development programs.
        • Knowledge of big data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, BigQuery, AWS Athena, or EMR.
        • Experience with public cloud platforms including AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
        • Strong data visualization skills.
        • Experience working across full software development efforts in complex technical environments.
