Accountabilities:
- Research, design, develop, modify, test, and implement software solutions supporting population simulation and advanced data modeling initiatives.
- Collaborate with customers and end users to understand requirements, define technical solutions, and establish achievable project timelines.
- Participate in Agile development teams to design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain backend software solutions.
- Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and testable code primarily using Java and Python.
- Contribute to software architecture decisions, development standards, and technical design improvements.
- Develop and maintain software components while supporting continuous integration and DevOps practices.
- Prepare software releases and provide technical support for application and infrastructure-related challenges.
- Recommend process improvements and automation opportunities to improve application performance and operational efficiency.
- Work with databases, data processing systems, and cloud technologies to support scalable software solutions.
- Participate in technical discussions, demonstrations, and customer engagements to communicate capabilities and gather feedback.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software engineering or a related development role.
- Strong experience designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production software systems.
- Proficiency in Java and Python programming languages.
- Experience defining software architecture requirements and establishing development standards.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle processes, DevOps practices, and continuous integration.
- Experience with source control, project management, and CI/CD tools such as GitLab, JIRA, Confluence, Jenkins, or similar platforms.
- Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases, including query optimization.
- Ability to analyze technical challenges, solve complex problems, and communicate solutions effectively.
- Experience gathering customer requirements and translating operational needs into technical solutions.
- Active TS/SCI clearance or eligibility to obtain the required clearance.
- Must be a U.S. citizen residing in the contiguous United States.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience with population simulation, synthetic data generation, or modeling and simulation environments.
- Background in geospatial engineering or location intelligence technologies.
- Experience supporting government research and development programs.
- Knowledge of big data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, BigQuery, AWS Athena, or EMR.
- Experience with public cloud platforms including AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
