As a Senior Security Risk Manager – Sensitive Intellectual Property Domain, you help protect the technologies that power the global semiconductor industry. At ASML, our lithography systems enable chipmakers to create increasingly powerful and energy‑efficient devices.
In this role, you safeguard highly sensitive engineering knowledge by ensuring risks are identified, understood, and addressed. You contribute directly to keeping critical innovations secure while supporting business priorities and continuous innovation.


Role and responsibilities


As a Senior Security Risk Manager – Sensitive Intellectual Property Domain, you act as the central point for managing risks related to highly confidential engineering information. You collaborate with stakeholders across engineering, business, and IT to strengthen protection across the full lifecycle.

  • Lead risk management for highly sensitive intellectual property within the domain
  • Define and drive improvements in governance, controls, and monitoring
  • Collaborate with business, engineering, IT, and security stakeholders
  • Identify, assess, and manage risks aligned with risk appetite
  • Support implementation of mitigation actions and track progress
  • Maintain oversight of control effectiveness and risk insights
  • Advise stakeholders on protecting sensitive engineering information

Education and experience


To be successful as a Senior Security Risk Manager – Sensitive Intellectual Property Domain, you bring strong expertise in security risk management and experience working in complex environments:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information security, computer science, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in information security risk management
  • Experience with risk assessment, treatment, and control design
  • Knowledge of information security standards (e.g., ISO 27001, ISO 31000)
  • Experience protecting confidential data or intellectual property
  • Familiarity with access management and secure collaboration practices
  • Experience with tools or technologies such as risk registers, security monitoring systems, or governance frameworks

Other information


This Senior Security Risk Manager – Sensitive Intellectual Property Domain position is based in Veldhoven, the Netherlands. You will be part of the R&D Security Risk Management team within the Development and Engineering Information Management department. You report to the R&D Information Protection Capability Owner.


You will collaborate with the broader ASML security community across business sectors. ASML supports your professional growth through continuous learning opportunities and exposure to international teams and projects.

The position offers competitive compensation, and the JG will be based on qualifications, years of experience and personal competencies.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
