The Development Officer oversees the day to day activities related to the fund raising activities of the Mount Sinai Health System, including but not limited to: annual giving, direct mail campaigns, stewardship, donation tracking, preparation of financial reports and contact with donors.

1. Oversees development activity in the day to day fundraising activities including direct mailing, annual giving, proposal writing, stewardship and institutional fund-raising.

2. Oversees and may manage computer system operations and programs for tracking donations, fund balances and donor prospects. Operates various software packages, including Raisers Edge.

3. Oversees the preparation of various database financial reports to track donations, fund balances and donor prospects.

4. Coordinates with Finance and appropriate departments regarding establishment of new fund accounts or fund transfers.

5. Reviews and advises management on any correspondence that requires immediate response.

6. Coordinates with the IT Department regarding database administration including users security and configuration rights, system software and hardware upgrades, back-up and maintenance.

7. May handle telephone inquiries from donors, departments and internal staff.

8. Performs other related duties.

  • Bachelors degree.
  • 3 years experience in fundraising or communications, with health care exposure preferred.

Compensation Statement

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $68,179.74 - $76,960.02 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
